Hi, Thanks for watching! As far as I know, the bags made in the 70's were made prior to when Coach started using creeds. They typically either had the Coach cartouche stamp or a little metal tag that said "Coach" on it. I believe they started using creeds sometime in the 80's, if I'm not mistaken. If your bag's creed says it was made in the NYC factory, I would estimate it's likely from the 80's. Also, I don't believe Coach started making the Madison Satchel until 1986.

We honestly don't really find them in thrift stores super often, just occasionally. I've actually seen more of them in thrift stores on the East Coast, probably because Coach was founded in NY. So it would make sense that there would probably be more in that area. It's probably easier/more likely that you can find them online, but sometimes you can be lucky enough to find them in person!

Thanks! My iphone 13 Mini fits inside! I'm not sure about other iphones, but you could always compare the measurements. The Tourist Pouch measures approximately about 6 x 7.5 x 1.5 inches (we also included photo measurements in the product listing, link in the description above).

Thanks for your comment! You can always post photos of the bag that you found and ask if it's authentic in the "Coach Counterfeits" FB group. They could tell you if it's authentic. And yes, Coach did make some pebbled leather bags that look pretty different from the smooth full-grain leather bags that we more commonly see 🙂

Thanks for your comment! Yes, I haven't seen another Classic Pouch with this type of strap either. The leather is also thicker and kinda has the "chewy" texture to it that some of the older NYC or pre-creed bags had. I was also wondering if maybe this one is an earlier version of the bag. It could also be a sample, like you mentioned. I believe I did see a Crescent Bag once that had a similar strap to this one, it's still a mystery tho. Reaching out to Dave and/or Debi the Restorer is a good idea. Thank you!
