Was out at the airport for a few minutes and saw two RVs about to take off. Pulled out the phone and put it on slow motion. Nothing too fancy, but I like the sound, the propellers make in slow motion ;^)

Replaced Garmin GMA240 audio panel with GMA245 in my RV-6. Done in real time with no edits to show how simple an upgrade it is. Related: www.VansAirForce.net

Fantastic job on a GREAT airplane.
Thanks ❤😂
Thanks so much for posting this very informative video. I am considering buying an RV8. The first two planes I owned were a 1974 Citabria and a 1946 Globe Swift with 180 hp Lyc and CS prop. But I got tired of the constant maintenance on the Swift, and the restrictions of working on and upgrading an old certified aircraft. The VAN's RV8 is becoming ever more interesting to me. My first choice was going to be an ACA Super Decathlon, but the X country performance is, as you know, lacking.
My wife doesn't like the RV8 seating but I wish she did because they are probably the coolest looking RVs of them all.
Great aircraft
Just a beautiful airplane and an outstanding build , thank you for sharing Danny
Great video! Vans, you should take an hour or so to remake this video for the modern RV-12 and a new camera (or iPhone) so that I don't have to use the advanced portions of my brain to fill in the data missing from the VHS quality recording!
Why not design it with hinges so the wings fold towards the fuselage? Or would hinges introduce weak points in the wings?
Would hinges increase insurance costs?
Fantastic.
Tremendous, thanks for sharing.
SWEET! What a nice layout!
👍
Nice RV8! What a nice guy. He reminds me of my mentor who was a retired United B747 Captain. He has built an RV4 and I got to fly in his beautiful RV4 many times in the early 1990s when I was just a fledgling aviator. RIP Hank.
So beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ sell me that peace of beauty
Nasty sweat and dirt is what's on people hands...Disgusting...
That's a beautiful plane.
Somebody has a good paddock to graze in😂
Thanks for sharing Danny. Clearly, your RV 8 is the best thought out I have seen. I built a Lancair 360 with an IO 360 B1B. Had I known about Vans, I think that would have been a far more useful choice. Here in Australia, away from prime airports, some of the outback strips would be better suited to planting crops! Lancair UC mains are very small in order to fit into the wing. I did same with fuel sellection and my radio stack came out in one unit. I ommited the header tank and fitted a removable hatch, This way I could remove the hatch and the back of the panel was easy access. Enjoy your beautifun RV. Kind regards, Barry M. Australia.
Is the test pilot calling out Knots or MPH?
Great share. Beautiful planes to fly RV-8’s.
Great quote, "I can't believe I enjoyed flying spam cans." After 50 years of flying, if there wasn't an RV-8 I would have quit after retiring from the airlines.
What a beautiful plane. Nice work!
What a great presentation, a real beauty aircraft, excellent fit and finish!
Great video. You seem to be a great guy. I wish all pilots were as friendly as you. PS I'm also a pilot.
I’d like to make contact with Danny. Im based in Cape Town and plan to build a RV8
Nice video! I'm in desperate need of upgrading the panel in my 20-year-old RV-8A and you've shared some great ideas that I'm sure will help me a lot, thanks!
Beautiful airplane! Let me know if you are ever interested in selling.
I've done touch and goes with 20 degrees, and full 40 degrees of flaps on my RV-8A with no real issues. I wouldn't recommend doing it with full flaps, but it can be done.
Great video, great airplane....but I could not stop looking at the gorgeous bird in the hangar! I think it's a RV-14? Also glad that he finally explained that yellow wire dangling about - it was driving me nuts.
LOOKS LIKE LIVERMORE CA
Cool. Those 8’s are nice planes.
Great informative video. Thank you so much
Absolutely amazing work. Thank you sir for sharing.
I sometimes ‘meet’ someone via an interview like this one, where I think, That’s a really cool guy; We’d be friends if we lived nearby. Danny King is the most relatable, accomplished, admirable, appropriately proud brother who seems like a genuine fellow. Huge admiration for the thoughtful quality he built into his RV8. Even (much) more admiration for the red blooded aviation dude he seems to be 😎🎩♠️💙

Thanks for sharing your beautiful airplane with us. Such great inspiration! I’m just finishing up the RV8 empennage section, need all the motivation I can get!
I need one of these to hop from kansas to Wisconsin
Really nice RV-8, I hope to get mine finished soon 90% done 90% to go!
I've never watched a finer video. Everything about this, from the plane to the commentary, is just incredible.
Good look at your airplane Danny, thanks. It’s beautiful!
I really enjoyed the walk through. It looks like a perfect RV8 to me! I fly a light sport. But I think the RV-8 is my favorite of Vans.
52F!
Beautiful. Doll. 😉 Always a favorite.
Thanks for taking the time. Enjoyed seeing and hearing.
Very special airplane, love the RV-8. Great review.
Beautiful RV-8!!! Thank you for giving us such a great look at your masterpiece! I can't wait to get one of my own, hopefully soon!
hello- insane masterpiece~ catch yyou later- VansAirForce. 💪
Well done sir.
Very nice, Doug!
Yikes, my nerves couldn't handle that bouncy bouncy every time going over the hangar door rails. Maybe by now Dude figured out to lay down specially crafted thin boards or metal to make a small ramp type transition across the valley of shaking doom. Not to mention getting stuck in between the track rails if you stall out . . .
RV grins for all! th-cam.com/video/q46Ifgu7ry8/w-d-xo.html
