I have this model and periodically I have ‘transmission failure, take it to your workshop, do not change gear’ warning. The car's engine would, without any warning, just cut out and the car would drift to a halt. Depending on where you were, it could prove fatal, a smart motorway for instance. The problem never showed up on Mercedes plug-in diagnosis system. But I persisted in my complaint and they had to send to head office to find out what the display meant. Finally, they found a fault, i.e. ' the battery has been producing too much voltage to the gearbox, this then causing the problems you have been experiencing', very ambiguous. Can anyone say if this can be true?
