Piercing Cold is so fun. I remember the first time I tried it (farming high level weapons from the respawning bandit camps in Blood And Wine. The crowds of bandits were a tough match for my underleveled ass. Unlocked Piercing Cold while trying to get the adjacent skill below it, equipped it just to see what it would do. Bye-bye bandits. Aard was already fun to use, but PC just made it a satisfying method for creating mass casualty events. Added Old Leshen decoction and Fawny Owl. Blew my mind
yes my fault , thanks for replying is it viable doing aard build for base game without dlc? wanna breeze through deathmarch but dont know if its best choice
@MarwanAyman-ge7xh I believe so, though you'll be missing out on a lot of fun perks - the final aard perk scales its damage with your level, so it's always "viable" as long as you are investing into sign intensity. I would recommend igni and quen as your primary spells for a base game death march playthrough. Aard only really becomes essential in fights like these where the boss can't burn.
still works 2 tap ard right away, get 2nd form, 2tap again and but the time he gets up you can cast again. 3rd part was a hell for me my sword did 20 dmg
using any decoctions? or just no alchemy skills for maximum sign intensity? for me it looks like echidna decoction could be useful, but ive never fought this boss so i could be wrong. btw im 36 level, just unlocked mutations (i had enough points to instantly unlock conductors of magic) and building towards griffin sign build with no alchemy skills (for max sign intensity). but since i dont have grandmaster armor i cant double cast and stamina regeneration is more valuable. so i inserted two alchemy skills (besides synergy that is core i added heightened tolerance and acquired tolerance, rest is griffin school techniques and useful sign skills). now i can imbibe echidna + ancient leshen decoctions + tawny owl(if its dark it doesnt use any toxicity) + pethri filter (or whatever else i want). ofc this is my build until i unlock grandmaster armor. do i think right or is there something that im missing? (ps: since new patch reginald's balls give 20 stamina regen, that's pretty nuts ;)
That sounds really good for level 36- my biggest recommendation would be to get your armor enchanted at the runewright with an enchantment that benefits whatever sign you like using the most. Though you could save that cash for ng+ when you've got more perk points to spare. Otherwise, if you're already downing 2-3 decoctions at a time, tissue transmutation can massively boost your health pool for those tougher engagements, and make toxic damage less of an issue. The grandmaster griffin set sure is nice for that dual casting, but when dealing with big groups, rotation igni and aard's alternate cast with frost are BRUTAL, and I can't recommend them enough. Just get your sign intensity high enough so your burn chance is 100% and melt face B)
@@cody_the_rat thanks for the answer! i already enchanted my armor with rotation and i have the tissue skill unlocked, since i needed to use some points to get to synergy. so when facing harder opponent i can definitely try that!
I know!!! It's super exciting! They also made it so that the rotation enchantment applies burn now, whereas before it was almost entirely worthless because of that. Now, I don't think I'll ever go back to regular igni
@@cody_the_rat really? That would make ignis OP as hell! Now Im on DM NG+ with Piercing cold and its hella fun. Anyway could you please show us your igni build for NG+? Much appreciate tho.

You are the reason I play the 11th playthrough now
Thats not the witcher. That right there is a Avenger
how does your decotion last that long?
That's just what decoctions do! They're pretty great:>
@cody_the_rat i mean its 40 min , mine last for 30 seconds?
@@MarwanAyman-ge7xh you're probably using potions, not decoctions

great
This good know signs actually do damage on NG+ deathmarch next gen because they never did before.

Nice!
If only a remake was made. Sadly the creator said that he won't do it.
