TIP: don’t keep alcohol near any heat source! The elevated temperature within the cabin above the stove will cause the compounds in the alcohol to change which can easily result in a bitter taste or taste fluctuations that aren’t necessarily pleasant. Which is especially unfortunate if you’ve invested in a pricey bottle of wine or liquor! Suggestion: store unopened bottles of alcohol in a cool, dark place. If it’s wine, storing in a cool, DRY place, lying on its side at a slightly downward angle so the cork is in contact with the liquid at all times, is best. Angled storing allows the cork to stay tight and not dried out, which would possibly shrink the cork and allow air inside the bottle thus spoiling the wine!
