For the 2nd phase when he ran around in a circle, I stayed in the center and only focused on dodging the electric ball so I didn’t have to worry about him charging at me.

Fought this with a mage build, didn’t work so well. Went with tank build, winnable, but took hours. Had to be patient.

Lord of Thunder is based over Dyaus Pita that is a variation of the Vajra that was trashing you in that mission and is also one of the most nefarious bosses to face in God Eater.

I beat Empress and Lord today You probably already fought him and hopefully killed him, but if not here are a couple of hints Use light mobility. You'll have easier time not only dodging, but controlling distance between you two Lock on to his back lock on point. Or at least try to, I personally found it much easier to manage camera on him this way High DPS. He's a DPS check (kinda), so you'll have to keep up the aggression and hit often and/or hit hard or you'll have to deal with... consequences 😅 Overall I'm very sad for everything I said about this game's DLCs before. I usually don't form an opinion on something until I watch, play, listen to it myself, but this game's DLCs were exceptions, because of a couple of reasons I don't wanna get into. To my surprise they're far from worst BS in the world people paint them as. Areas are meh. Damage on many enemies is bloated, but they're meant for NG+ characters, so... Rewards are somewhat lame for being this late in the game, but I definitely can see myself being pretty happy with some of them if I'd play them... not 3 years after launch 😅 HFK is actually a great fight. Empress is very badly designed, but far from difficult. Thunder Lord is THE hardest of them, but aside from issues with the camera, he's very much fair and feels like the final test of what you learned playing the game and every death felt fair I'm definitely not trying to get all challenges on Empress and Lord, especially considering my character ended up at lvl 150 AFTER I killed the Lord, with me dumping everything in different gear tho 😅

Treat every encounter as a sort of duel. Don't get too greedy, monitor your consumables and your buff items. Learn when to shift from melee to range combat. Also, pay attention to the cutscenes, useful info related to creatures and stuff can be learned sometimes. Also, this games story is formatted as an anime, there will be times when you aren't permitted to go out in the field due to story related stuff. Just some helpful tips.

this is definitely about to be interesting as my taste and character design has changed... *a LOT* since my last playthrough so im about to have to create a whole new character from scratch instead of using an old one 😭ill probably be doing the good ol fortified zweihander build again though that or ill do a more aggressive damage oriented heavy weapon build

If you decline Louis's partnership he still saves you in the cutscene when Oliver attacks and you're paired for the fight, unless you quit and get rid of him through partner menu (that wasn't in the game at first)

I'd say yes, you don't use ENOUGH gifts. They're very important and even in your vids you can often see how often with gifts you manage to delete chunks from HP bars and then go back to an equivalent of chip damage with normal attacks 😅

The Opportunist is a passive that works ONLY in peril, below 33% health. It increases your damage, stagger rate, and your balance by three to four times. Also, yeah. Using blood sacrifice to both lower your own health and activate buffs.

I had a friend help me with the dlc bosses, we spent an entire day on the first one/second and I felt like I was going to tear my hair out at any moment. Never even attempted the third one...

No ichor skill most of them were using is Blood Sacrifice. You sacrifice a bit of HP for ichor. Great for pre-buffing or for spamming gifts

First two vids ARE what have to play the game like, but 3and 4 are speedrun builds basically and isn't really how anyone, but speedrunners fight I only fought HFK for now and he definitely isn't a fight for min maxers only. He's punishing as hell, but not hard and very fun

You unlock the fire GS from fighting HFK with GS

Also high mobility is a big part of. I think this game is at least twice easier with lowest mobility, which you can achieve with every weapon class btw

I think one big difference is that you're always hella underpowered. I don't know what your builds look like, but taking two or three hits with GS, while guy in the vid takes one hit with a sword to down the crystal is not OK 😅

That "fire tornado thing" is a skill from Surt - the code you get from Hellfire Knight

I'd also say I'm not good at making builds, but playing CV, Monster Hunter, Borderlands and some other games is definitely making me better Had lots of fun killing Hellfire Knight for the first time (and like ten time after) with a Heimdall DPS build and a simple Prometheus build

This made LoT Questionably easily I don’t even remember my old build but I was a glass cannon tha just teleported out of harm’s way all the time. But I had to go back and do it the way intended because LoD had to break my soul the way he was retextured to

believe that first video is using a build with the Venous Claw veil. A rather OP veil that was a preorder bonus. I dont think you can get it on PC or Playstation, but is purchasable on XBOX. just want to let people know that. since I had a frustrating time figuring that out last time I played. The closest Veil in the base game is the Ivory Grace. very similar stats.

If you don't want to make the min max builds, each blood code you get from the dlc boss before has skills in it that make the next one easier. The fire blades are from the hell fire knight boss, as is the small fire tornado. So the empress has the weakness to the next boss, but her gifts are tricky to use. Blood Sacrifice gives you ichor when you use it in exchange for health. Code Vein is a game that in courage's you to max out as many gifts as possible to maximize your dmg. And also quick tip, your blood veils can increase your buffs if you take the right type. I believe each buff falls under the light type. So one with a high light bonus means better buffs.

Watching these builds is like experiencing therapy U gotta love it
