Good Toys or Bad Toys For Dogs.. But Why ??
We first had a leather collar and noticed a wound spot on his throat. He did not pull much, but it was enough to remove the fur and leave a wound spot.. Then we tried a fabrics collar, which was a little better.. Now we use a harness and the collar merely for his name plaque, he does pull a little more but I think it's better for the dog. One thing, do not pull forward with a harness, he may wiggle himself out of it this way.
Thanks for your great comment, one of my clients dogs also had surgery on their neck so a harness worked well for them too. Tip I always attach the lead to the collar and to the link on the front of the harness. Double safe 👌
@@K9CareObedienceTraining We bought an adapter to connect collar and the harness on the back with one lead. But honestly, it's too much stuff for the dog to carry around and hanging along the side. (he is a lurcher ~15kg). :D I am not afraid of him running away, it's more about him being exited around other dogs.
@@Disi2008 Agree.. Keeping it simples is best..👍
Do you use a harness ? What works for you. Thanks for watching & hope you found this video useful. Big shout out to all my viewers in the USA, Australia, The UK, Europe and Canada. Cheers Nikhil 😊😊
Great video Nikhil. I will share with my Cert IV buddies.
My 7 month old girl did allow me to put her collar on twice, but I suppose since I did not continue daily, it's not the same. I have difficulty with this training video because as soon as I pick up the collar..to place it in my hands, she runs across the room. She is a strong-willed and stubborn soul indeed. Whether it's ear cleaning, teeth brushing or nail trimming, she becomes a missing dog anytime I make attempts. I'm not sure she would even see the treats because she likely will never be in the same room as me or my efforts. 🤪🫣😔
Awesome video Nikhil, thanks for all your effort! We loved doing the course!
Your so welcome, it was so much fun 😂😂
Thanks to the K9 Care All stars for being in this video and Karski Daly Blues for the rights to use their Awesome Music. Home grown here in Fremantle West Aus. Good luck with the Album guys ✌💯
Woohoo!!! Best video everrrrr!!! All of our dogs are champs!!!💜💜🐾🐾
They sure are 🙂🥰😍
our dog is BIG and she's 2 and LOVES to jump and is annoying
Great advice as always Nikhil.
Thanks Jane Appreciate you watching as always 🤗🙂
It might have been a different proposition if a cat was wandering past the open gate!
Excellent content. Kudos.
Thank you much appreciated :)
There is one male cane corso mix I could render social, but too many barriers to his adoption, or even me walking him.
I hear you.. Bets to get a much info as you can before you adopt
nice and concise overview, i like
Thank you, appreciate you watching :)
Great video! Refuse to use a prong collar! So glad I did your class, its been a slow battle but we're getting better each day! :)
Thanks Phil, and keep up your great work, training is a journey
Hey Guys. Hope you found this video useful. Let me know what tips worked for you.. 🙂
Have a border collie we rehomed from a person who was struggling with him. Our approach neatly summed up by this video, thank you! He is growing into an absolute treasure.
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and your feed back, Much appreciated.
I don’t know how to do this alone you have someone there helping I’m alone I can’t train her to sit and not jump on me. How do you do it when you’re alone and the dog jumps on you I keep kicking her in the chest with my knees like people tell me it does not work. She’s a German Shepherd. She’s a year old and she will not stop, she she’s hurt me several times with her aggressive jumping
Try throwing some treats on the ground to get their attention off you and on to something else, once they have calmed down a bit you should be able to get them to sit.. Let me know how you go..
Could you use a tieback?
I really struggle when visitors come into the house, one of my dogs is a cockerpoo, 10 months and a tiny poodle mix who is 2. I have young kids visiting and I don’t want them jumping. I’ll practice more with them
Practice heaps you will get there
I had a Rottweiler. A dog walker told me he could make her jump up on him. He tried treats, excited voices and waving his hands around. She refused to jump on him. I was so proud of her
Thats awesome to hear..
Problem happens when she is not on leash and jumps?!?
Best to keep on leash while training
This was really helpful, thank you. And I can tell you really love and respect dogs. 💪🏻🐶
You are so welcome!
Keeping your eyes on your puppy when they are in the house was a great tip. Thank you....
You're welcome, glad you found it useful.
How are you going with your toilet training ? Love to know if you found these tips useful. Thanks Nikhil K9 Care 🙂🐶❤
We always find your tips helpful! Now we just need a video on how to re-train our pup! She does so well at going in the spot we trained her... now we want to move that spot after renovations! 🙈🙈
@@PhilLaRosaAu Great topic. "How to retrain Your Puppy Where To Toilet:" Quick Tip: Pick when she is going to go and take her to the new place where you want her to go.. And reward well when she goes there. Don't give her access to places you don''t want her to go.. Hope that helps.. Will have to make a video on that..
No Caesar !
Spot on 🤗
Thanks for keeping these videos short, simple, and straight to the point. 👍
You are so welcome!
Plan for Success or Prepare to Fail. Well said, knowing what to do and starting early is so important. 🙂
My dawg was terrible, at 7 months just would not come back from playing with other dogs.. She is much better now, just took time for her to grow up..
That great to hear, keep up your great work.
Sticks are bad news, best avoided..
They sure are,, thanks for watching.. 👌
I remember when you first told me about the danger of sticks, so we've just never let Rosie play with them.... This video was a great reminder that I'm glad we don't do sticks! 🙅♂️ Plenty of other stuff to play with and chase!
Spot on.. Lots of other things you can use... 💯👍
Have you seen a dog injured from sticks or has your dog been injured ? Let me know in the comments 🤔
Another great video @K9Care 👏👏👏
Thank you! 🤗
Hahaha I'm starting to feel this stage! Rosie leaves her ears at home sometimes!
Common Symptom unfortunately
What problems did you experience with your puppy & how did you go dealing with them ? 🙃
Great video! Need to remember to tell our porkchop what to do instead of 'no'! Thanks for the helpful tips as always!
Great you found it useful Thanks Phil 👍
What works for you when you're training your puppy ?
What do you want to teach your puppy ?? 🤔 Let me know in the comments. May be the next video Cheers Nikhil K9 Care
Such a great puppy
Love the concept of relaxing walk and it’s dog‘s walk! Feel much better after watching this as my bc never walk strictly beside me…. And love the Aussie trainer with Aussie dog 😊
Best walks are relaxing walks. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Oh, I rescued a welsh border collie age 11 months old. She will be two years old this may and by heck she is very clever dog, very funny but very hard work at times as she missed out on a lot in her early days but my life wouldn’t be the same without her though. I do lots of walking, training and playing. There’s quite a long road ahead off us yet, but I’m sure one day she will settle down and become more relaxed with her life and surroundings, I mean though she hasn’t been with us that long, she will go into my sons bedrooms to say goodnight to them each evening before settling down to sleep herself and if one son isnt home she will Waite downstairs until her family is back under one roof, then she will relax upstairs for the night 😂 It helps me immensely watching videos like yours to help train her so thank you so much for sharing ❤
Well done you for all the work you are doing, you will be paid back enormously for your efforts. Humbled you found the video useful, thanks so much for your feedback.
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it! All the best for 2024..
So just a normal teenager then 😅- thanks these videos are very helpful
Ha Ha.. Yup just a normal teenager 🙄 😂
Thank you, very helpful. Hand gestures help so much with training my year old Border Collie.❤
Great you found it useful :)
This is great! 😍 We need our baby to practice her turns again! Getting lazy!
Always good to go back to basics..😀🤓
Such a cool trick. Can your dog speak ?
Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks Pam.. Glad you found it useful..
I love the comment about when you make Shanti look up at you before you cross the road. I live on the second story and I am disabled and have back issues so living in Wisconsin, I have to make her look at me at the top of our deck and/or Wait for me to give her the command so that she does not pull me down the stairs when it is snowy and icy 🥶
Thats so good. well done..
I'm now super-proud, we got something right! We've always, always, stopped at the kerb, it could be a life-saver! 🙂
Awesome to hear !! Top Job :)
Good advice. We are looking forward to the sessions!
Thank you.. Glad you found the info useful :)
Great video! So calm. Am fwding this one to my students. I have my Dobes wait at every corner as well, they just have to be right with me crossing the street, then when we get across will say Free so they can go back to loose leash walking. Joel Beckman has a dog walking tutorial video that's particularly helpful. (His Rottweiler named Creed video for the foundation video for loose leash walking and reactivity too - you're not going anywhere until they're on your page). Putting in the work up front and you'll rarely have issues later - they earn their way on the walk. A quick 5 minute game of retrieve in the back yard BEFORE the walk also helps take the edge off. Check out Susan Garrett's retrieve video - one of the best out there. Hope that helps.
Just fkin FANTASTIC.... add to that, have patience and give time for them to learn (and us to learn). Sooo simple, they can understand what you are trying to do. Thanks much, sharing your video
Thanks for watching
