That’s cool! I knew that he played the open d but never saw anything about the bend up. Ordinarily you’d bend the lower three strings down to get the slight dissonance. Can’t wait to try this with modifications!
Yes, ingenuity of Jimmy Page! Bending up allows the open D to ring out, otherwise you will mute it with your first finger if you bend down.
Kick ass riff! I wish I could see the turn around a bit more clearly…although with how well you played it I might be able to get it nonetheless.
Thank you! If you mean the blues lick, it's a slide up from the 7th to 9th fret with the ring finger on the G string followed by the middle finger B string 8th fret. Then a slide from 9 to 7 and, pull off 7 to 5 on G string, landing on the 7th fret D string. The chords are a simple C power chord to open A and D strings played together, landing on A chord. Hope this helps, let me know any other questions :)
