Welcome to Sizzling Ingot
This channel is dedicated to demonstrate the process of melting various types of metals including,
aluminum, copper, brass, lead, tin, and zinc. We dismantle trashed objects and scrap them for their metallic goods. We then fire up the furnace and get the metal red hot until it reaches its melting point. Its then poured into molds to form our desired shaped ingots. Throw some ice on top of the glowing ingot and enjoy the sizzle as it cools down.
We will also demonstrate how to build your own furnace, tongs to lift and pour your crucible, burners, molds, and other requests that are made down the road.

Thank you for trialling the various ratio and reinforcement so we don’t have to. Appreciate the video
Hi, you use ball valve gaz specified or any ball valve (water ..) can be used for, please ?
When he started pressing the mixture into the mold it started barking at him.
Can these be used for a masonry heater?
Beautiful Venturi type burner, I kindly ask if it can also melt copper.? Thank you
Can I ask a dumb question, if they insulate against 2100. Wouldn't they be awesome insulation for a house or work shed, winter or summer?
Interesting video, well done. Ask how many KW or BTU your burner has. Thank you
You should do one on a waste oil burner like this.
Should've cleaned all of the seeds out first.
What happens if you change the length of the pipe? So that it's not so close to the foundry?
Waterglass = sodium silicate solution. Often used in ceramic making. Can be ordered on Amazon (In the USA at least).
Thanks!
Now, how to build the foundry furnace without having to weld everything or anything?
You need to talk in your video. Or else it's just boring.
Not necessarily because some people talk too much which is annoying.
I made mine exactly the same, except for the mig welding nozzle. Turns out that when the nozzle hole is 5mm wide, its a very nice marshmellow roaster. Took a while to realize the bore diameter at 1mm is ideal in order to get beter atomizatiom of the lpg gas. I couldnt get a mig welding tip, so i made one to fit acording to internet specs after i first made one by guessing. Its perfect now with the 1mm hole. Thanks for the video! You saved me an expensive buy!
Waterglass is Sodium Silicate, where did you buy it?
The M6x1.0 tap and the mig tip go right through the Hex Nipple Fitting - 1/8 in. MIP x 1/8 in. MIP. What am I doing wrong? - disregard, the part from Amazon had a larger inner dimension. Home Depot had the right part.
This is great. Maybe a re-do to see if wire gauge or mesh size changes can help? Keep the recipe the same and only change the mesh?
I truly hate DIY videos that are not narrated especially when they have generic garbage music!
she turned out nice mate I like that size polished up real nice my last ingot I poured on my channel ended up bit over 5kg thats my biggest one at present another like bro !
¿CUÁNTO TE DURA UNA PIPETA DE PROPANO DE ESAS?
remember guys at the 3 minute mark on this video. he adds a topical layer... that alone will create the heat barrier. but a reinforced water mix will help the structure for heat. This cast is very weak, non baring and will crack under duress. My advice is to cast your project and protect the cast from external elements, like water and pressure. Think eggshell wrapped in cotton and bricked in... otherwise its a go..and a win for the fire community... believe me the info here alone is worth a zillion in building fireplaces...
do you think I can use it for pizza oven ?
@@oozification yes if it's done with cast method with the water glass and and such but remember it will take the heat but will be brittle after first heat. Do no knocks 😎
I Have different handles
I made this same burner before I found the video. Interesting that without the 3/4 to 1" nozzle on the end, the flame is very unstable and inclined to go out. Add the nozzle and it's very stable at practically any pressure or air flow setting. I guess that makes it rocket science.
Looking to melt some 316l stainless steel (2540-2630° F/1390-1440° C) has anyone managed to get up to that tempt with a forge burner like this or is that too high a melting point and would require a solid fuel (coal) forge? (Or pure 02 with propane)
A very nice, educational film. I think that you only made a mistake in the selection of materials, the first one is that the reinforcement can be dispersed, then the stresses are distributed evenly over the entire surface inside, and the second one is that you should use clay cement, i.e. refractory cement, e.g. Istra40 or Istra 50 or any other clay alumina cement, try it make from these materials. I will only add that you can also reduce the amount of water and use a polymerizer, i.e. a plasticizer, this will significantly improve the mechanical parameters, i.e. early strength, but it is not necessary because alumina cements have very high early strength, warm greetings from Poland :)🤝
I think you have knowledge on this subject. Do you have any knowledge or experience regarding lightweight concrete?
About how hot does the burner get?
Will probably be using ref. cement. But when I saw you cover the washers with the blanket, that told ne this is a winner. Great job and detail, including the list That's probably eighty percent of the work!!❤
He did forget to tell/show us how he made the hinge. Like how many bolts he drilled through
do testing without the wire mesh, bricks only
Great to watch yeah I did a copper pour yesterday 27 jan 2024 enjoyed your pour sub you mate very enjoyable
the angle grinder part made my tooth hurt
What about fireclay? For replace material?
This was by far the better builds of this forge I've seen. TY
Would you make one of these for me without the regulator and a 1/2 inch flanged nipple for cooection?. Will be using natural gas
Will this work on household natural gas town supply
Natural gas supply to your house is very low pressure. No way you're getting the 30 psi he uses in the video out of it. Also, the nozzle hole size would be different if you could get the natural gas pressues high enough.
Thank you for your video, I want to make blocks for the pizza oven floor but I wondering if they will retain good amount of heat over time?
Did you try? I am curious about the same - i.e. both for the base and the dome
I have red bricks in the floor and dome, firebricks in the floor but they don't retain much of the heat, I finally put a pizza stone and that works better
What is the purpose of the pressure gage?
To visualize if your propane tank is running low
someone somewhere is wondering where their sewing kit went
Is a small flame just because of low propane or too high winds?
Sounds like low fuel pressure
Receipy: 200ml waterglas 30ml NaOH liquid 50ml water 100😂g ash from powerstation 100g gbfs ( slag from steel factory) 100g perlite 100g vermiculite
Start out with "black pipe". gas from hot galvanized steel can kill you.
Not good for ya. I welded galvanized steel sheeting for years. No respirator Young m dumb and didn't know better and shady company didn't care. Just fine. Metal fever is real though for sure not fun
I agree that this is the best design I have found and I have got the shopping list. Is there any chance of getting the drill bits and sizes in metric for the rest of the planet? I've not seen inches since Kindergarten.
Convert from inches to mm by multiplying the fraction of inches X 25.4. US still uses inch all over the place.
Awww dude, that wind sound fx is so cool 😎
How do I connect the gas tank to the burner?
If you look at the video you will see that he has a regular propane grill regulator and line disconnected from the grill and attached to the last brass fitting in the burner assembly
I just received an new furnace and used the same stuff. I diluted it with about 40% water and used a cheap spray bottle. About the same size as yours and I used It seems to have soaked it real well. After 5 hours I can feel it hardening and able to form the edges where I want them with no loose fibers. i used about 20 Oz of mix and it soaked everything real good. I'll do another coat if necessary with the remainder of the bottle which will easily make the same amount(1 qt bottle), but I think it is going to be more than enough the way it has hardened already and still feel very wet.
Cutting up that end piece to screw it into the reducer was an amazing idea!! Thanks fkr that
ty awesome vid
NO OFFENCE , I USED WHITE VINGER OF 24 HOURS AND STRIPPED ALL GALVA. AND GETTING THIS ACID IS IMPOSSIBLE HERE IN THE COUNTRY I LIVE , WENT TO ALDI STORE , BOUGHT 5 CONTAINERS @ 2 LITRES AND ALL PERFECT , TOTALLY STRIPPED AND YOUR PROCESS IS FAR TO LONG AND WASHING ETC…..
This is an amazing video thanks
is the regulator gauge needed? i found the same fitting without a psi gauge. also does this make the end hook up 3/8 flare from the regulator or 1/4? im assuming 3/8
Great video thanks 😊
