An actual answer: A few years ago, we discovered the window in the kids' room was broken. At first we thought the rambunctious kids had broken it, but they swore they hadn't. Upon closer inspection, we discovered red hand prints all over the brick outside. We pieced together that someone had tried to break in while everyone was out, but then met the dogs. Two dachshunds, a dachshund mix (and to anyone unfamiliar with the breed, dachshunds have HUGE teeth for their size, they were bred to fight badgers on their home turf so their teeth and claws reflect that), and Bruce. Bruce is a roughly 80 pound mutt that I can only guess what he's a mix of (my guess, based on body, face, ears, markings, and behavior, is that he's a mix of lab, pit, German shepherd, and husky). And Bruce Does Not Like It when people try to mess with his family. We know the intruder didn't get any further than the window because the kids' game consoles were still sitting 3 feet from the broken window. Also Bruce coughed up a (thankfully not sharp) piece of glass the next day.
