Sounds like the inattentive symptoms of ADHD is more prominent with you and with your son the hyperactivity symptoms are more prominent. ADHD symptoms can change over time. Hyperactive and impulsive symptoms may be replaced by more inattentive symptoms as people age. Also women tend to have the internalised symptoms of ADHD whereas men have the externalised symptoms. Because of these differences women are often misdiagnosed with anxiety and depression and often will get an ADHD diagnosis later in life.

April from the Space Maker method is a huge proponent! I also think her techniques might be helpful as she is often talking about “the small space shuffle” and how spaces get worse before they get better. Very excited to binge your vlogmas!

It’s interesting you said the fishbowl keeps you directed and focused. When my son was little, the way he could get through his room, was if I gave him one item type at a time. I would tell him, put your super heroes away, put your cars away etc. I think I knew a fish bowl too.🙃

An idea popped into my head for the flow of the landing and I promise I will not care AT ALL if you don’t do this but I thought switching the drum set into the corner where the bookcase is and having the bookcase flush with the balcony might be for flow-y? Like the boys would be able to access the books without having to dodge the drums and turn sideways. I don’t however remember what the rest of the landing is so not even sure if that would help at all haha Anyway loving this series! You’re on a roll!!

Aww this reminded me of when my kids were small and all the great books we read together. I just bought my nephew a few of those Elephant and Piggie books that you had among the books you got from someone and took upstairs. My favorite gifts to shop for are children's books. Great job! I encourage you to check out ADHD in women -- sorely under-diagnosed because it presents differently in women than in boys, and guess which one gets studied? Mel Robbins has some helpful podcasts on this topic. One helpful book is "Your Brain's Not Broken".

ADHD looks really different in women. It is busy distracted or severely focused brain. Not of the body.for most, not all. It presents differently in everyone. I am late diagnosed. And breaking decluttering into small sections is 100% the thing. Gamification also helps. I am now one of Dana K Whites Declutter coaches. Lifechanging! ❤

What if you do a Goldfish bowl of chores for the kids? They could learn how to do things that way. For example, take a picture of their bookshelf when it's done being decluttered, and then if they pull tidy up the bookshelf, they could see what the end goal is. Not sure I am explaining that well. LOL

The fish bowl idea is really good,that way you don’t get overwhelmed. You are doing a great job. I try to declutter every season but don’t always. The small sections seem much easier.

Yes, keep the method going and include your viewers. We could make our own fishbowl of tasks and email you before and after's and with permission from the viewer you could include their before/after as part of your video's .

1st task Bookcase 8 adult books decluttered 2nd task: Under bathroom sink decluttered. Done & done Took less time then thinking about it the last two times. i like pulling paper from jar and getting task done.

Having things declutterred creates a clear and calm environment for you and your family. I think you will be so much more productive in the coming year. You often mention “projects” that you never get to-maybe this calmer environment will help you tackle some of them. 🤞😃
