    Passed my pre-licensing test and have failed 3 times my main exam due to social insurance and understanding the field underwriting so thank you this helped me. Next time is a winner I know it! Also as far as social security, I believe we need to drop off a lot of benefit to those who do not need it or deserve it by doing a preliminary exam or weaning of sorts. Maybe no more Federal taxes but raising the % of social security %.

    Discuss the job security and/or the hidden economy of providing services to a low caste of people. Providing “support” services as a business rarely is mentioned.

    Social insurance is a form of social welfare that provides insurance against economic risks. The insurance may be provided publicly or through the subsidizing of private insurance. In contrast to other forms of social assistance, individuals' claims are partly dependent on their contributions, which can be considered insurance premiums to create a common fund out of which the individuals are then paid benefits in the future.

    Yes, In this world there are certain people that are considered deserving and others aren’t. There is a genocide going on in Tigray, Ethiopia. The Ethiopian government, Eritrean government with the assistance of many other countries have been committing genocide against Tigrayans for the last two years. A year before the genocide the Ethiopia government denied the necessary budget for the Tigray region. All the Tigrayrans who live throughout the world have been trying to be the voice to the voiceless people of Tigray but the international community failed to take a meaningful and concrete action. The only thing we have heard from the international community is “we are deeply concerned” The people of Tigray have been on a complete blockade, placed by the Ethiopian government for the last three years. There is no electric, banking, internet, and basic sustenances… In addition to the man made starvation, they have been attacked/ and is still being by land and by air. Little boys over the age of four were slaughtered, more than 120,000 women were gang raped( these is only the reported one, it’s estimated to be more than that), Priests were slaughtered, nuns were raped, their belongings looted, and anything that they couldn’t transport to Eritrea or Ethiopia were burnt down, and their were scorched so they won’t grow crops…. The Tigrayans activities were almost begging for the international community to place a no fly zone and to allow humanitarian aid but nothing has been done so far. It was very shocking to witness how the Ukraine war was handled. It immediately got all the necessary coverages on the media. They were provided with the necessary weapons to defend themselves. The Tigrayans aren’t asking for weapons but we were asking them to help us to stop the war but if they can’t stop the war then to place a No fly zone and to force the Ethiopian government to allow all humanitarian aids. It’s so sad to learn that some life’s are more valued than others. It’s a sad and hard lesson.

    Great video, thank you! You mention a major report that was published in the 60s, do you refer to the Moynihan Report or is it something else, please ? Thank you.

      I was referring to Michael Harrington's book "The Other American: Poverty in the United States" which then prompted the Moynihan report.

    What policies toward the poor did the British bring to the Colonies? Also, How are these reflected in our current welfare policies?

    • @kristenkremer1014
      @kristenkremer1014 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's an article that discusses this more: socialwelfare.library.vcu.edu/programs/poor-relief-early-amer/. The idea of classifying individuals as "deserving" and "undeserving" of assistance is still very much reflected in our current welfare policies, in which policies/programs aimed towards certain groups (such as children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities) are more popular while policies/programs aimed at other groups (such as immigrants and ex-offenders) are less popular.
