Throwing sand on the mat is bad practise. As the sand rolls into the mat, the composition of the asphalt is changed.

That's why it's so expensive. Way too many workers needed for this. The operation is not efficent if it needs this many guys to do.

I have been working in the asphalt industry for 20 years and I love it this was great too watch 👍

Asphalt is much better than concrete. But you can't tell Texas that, b/c they have a ship load of concrete in the entire state. It's a noisy and ugly roads.

It was an interesting experience. I've done it for a few year. It wasn't that glamorous but you did have fun when you were young.

11 years of paving and a lot of this just happens on the fly , paver width . Setting end gates and tow points revolve around thickness of mix but it is a good video to show what a paver is
