Your guest (Justina) was being inconsistent and not straightforward, she wasnt saying it "as it is". Traditions are traditions, and Opanyin was being interrupted by her way too many times. This program was put together to educate the audience, not to put us off. The 'knocking ceremony' Opanyin narrated is most authentic. Unfortunately, our acceptance of Western culture has 'diluted' and compromised our traditions and the very essence of our marriage processes (for lack of a better expression or word). I disagree with both ladies that economic situations compel ladies to compromise their values of the process to settle for less. I disagree because in every era or time, there are economic situations. We need to understand the traditions and apply the necessary steps toward marriage. Women are mostly responsible due to desperation, low self-esteem and unhealthy habits. I agree with Opanyin, absolutely. Kindly give me contact details for this show; I need to make a few enquiries.
