Just an amateur videographer with an iPhone and a video Drone. I try to highlight unique locations and the history they might hold. Sometimes you will find views of the charity work I have the honor of being a part of. And if I am lucky, I may get asked on occasion to record historic events. It's all for fun, and maybe to leave my own little mark on the world. Enjoy!
Adventures: Longwood Gardens
On a recent trip to the Philadelphia area, we had the opportunity to visit Longwood Gardens. Longwood is, arguably, the finest horticultural institution in North America. Pierre S. du Pont, purchased the core of Longwood in 1906, expanding the home, and conserving the Peirce family arboretum that compelled him to buy the land. The garden is known for the elaborate fountain shows that entertain guests in spring, summer, and fall. But the crown jewel of Longwood is the Conservatory, covering more than 4 acres of exquisite gardens. Forests, meadows, and lakes also span the grounds, with miles of trails and boardwalks to enjoy. Experience fine dining at 1906, Longwood's upscale restaurant. Or grab a hearty dinner at the cafe and a brew at the beer garden. Longwood already offers more than a day's worth of finely manicured grounds to explore. But in November 2024, Longwood Reimagined debuts with an immense new greenhouse expansion to the conservatory. I highly recommend adding Longwood to your list of places to visit! For more information, or to plan your visit, go to longwoodgardens.org. Please Like & Subscribe for more content!

Hermoso ❤️❤️❤️
My dad met my mom there at a roller rink back in 47. My dad was a Indiana Hoosier, why my dad took my mom away from such a beautiful town I will never know. But I come back every spring for the car show and in the fall for the fair. Indiana OK but Ohio has lot nicer fairs and festivals. They have a good old fashion flair about them especially Lancaster's fair. And the scenery is well, nothing can conpare. I thought I've seen it all but I always find more. Definitely the town is a treasure. I wasn't born there, but when I visit it's like coming home.
I couldn’t get in when I visited. It was closed under construction
They had just concluded a large exterior project before I visited. Hopefully, the next time you visit downtown, it'll be open for you.
I forgot about this. It's really good. I was just at the park. They have a whole garden now. The Oktoberfest is there.
That park as changed so much! A long time ago when I was a senior at Fairfield Union, we used to have our varsity soccer practices there! I'll have to check out the garden next time I come down! Thanks!
I love country and small town💛
Don’t go at 2am
Just did last night, wasn’t a single issue for the entire walk from moonsville to kings hollow
Story: so there was once a man in the 1800s that was there but then a train ran him over so now his ghost hunts this tunnel
And when you have a job as a park officer and when you drive to investigate the tunnel you hear a train whistle
@@Salma-st9iolol
This may seem like a nice video until you learn the back story.
There’s a disturbing story in that tunnel bro…
“When dinosaurs rule the earth”
Very nice video ❤️ 👍
The best coaster ever
I had a former friend marry on Mount Pleasant about a decade ago. An ex of mine moved back a year and a half ago to be closer to family. The city is riding the wave expansion as our capital city and its connected suburban cities push ever farther outward.
It's a surprise to know that there's more to Lancaster than meets the eye.
The whole region around Lancaster holds such a unique history-both geologically and antropologically. Sadly, much of the Native American earthworks and mounds have been tilled over for agriculture. But signs do still exist if you know where to look. Evidence of the early settlers to the Northwest Territories are also readily found in the area, too, and it's not as hard to find! Thanks for commenting!
I grew up in Dublin and lived there from age 4 to 18, that is, 1961 to 1975. All 12 years of school were in the Dublin school district. It has changed so much! Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for sharing! Dublin has certainly grown. The way they kept the old town center, yet connected it to the new, modern Bridge Park, really created something quite special.
Seniors beware. Not worth the expensive entrance fee. Minimal reduction for seniors. Only good for one day. I went 2 days because of the crowds on the first day. The second day was just as bad. Hundreds of yelling children. They bother the butterfly and ruin shots of the butterflies. If you have any mobility problems don’t go. The butterflies are beautiful but the experience is not worth the hassle.
You happened to visit the conservatory during the week that most of the County school districts were off for spring break. I can completely understand why you felt it was packed with kids. The conservatory offers programming for families that week, which brings in thousands of visitors. I'd suggest visiting on a weekday, after 2pm. Most school groups have headed out by that time, and Mon-Thurs tend to be the least busy days. Senior tickets are $4 less expensive than an adult ticket. Plus, if you have AAA, a membership to another local cultural institution, or are active or retired military, you can get an additional 1-3 dollars off your admission. Parking is also always free there, too. The Conservatory campus, by and large, is wheelchair accessible. They even offer free rentals of scooters and wheelchairs on a first-come-first-served basis. There are also many benches and seats around the campus if you need a rest. I sincerely hope you attribute your experience to an unfortunately timed visit and give them another chance -but maybe not during spring break. Thanks for commenting!!

Glad to see it’s back open.
Cold, gloomy and dreary days on end in the winter.
this is cool who sunk the first well
From what I can find, it looks like the first well may have been J.W. Huston and/or the Bremen Gas and Oil Company, in the fall of 1907. Thanks for the question!
Wow!! It's like a mini Yosemite!!
Most of Ohio's steep cliffs, tall waterfalls, and sandstone ravines and caves are in the Hocking Hills region. It's one of the best places to "step out of the ordinary" here in Ohio. I hope you get to visit sometime, if you haven't already! Thanks for the comment!
grew up in ashtabula county, always loved the covered bridges 😢❤ and the Covered Bridge Pizza restaurant was fun !
Thank you so much for visiting + producing this video! ✌
Absolutely! COSI has been one of my favorite places ever since I was a child visiting the original location on East Broad. I hope someone who sees this video will be inspired to visit and have the same sense of wonder I did as a child! Thanks for the kind comment!
Cool day trip!
We actually took 3 days/2 nights for this trip. We wanted to spend a bit more time in each area, so we stayed in Wooster, OH, the first night, then near Ashtabula, OH, the next. Looking forward to visiting there again next Fall! Thanks for the kind comment!
😡
Why the frown? Not a fan of Lancaster, or it's History?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Omg I just randomly found this video love it!! So I instantly subscribed and am hooked and watch more!!❤️
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the compliment. These videos are a labor of love and this particular one is a personal favorite. (I grew up in Rushville).
What is the story behind the small area near down town Lancaster that is named "Whites"?
I honestly do not know the answer to your question. If I had to guess, I'd say it was likely a small village that ultimately was absorbed into Lancaster. But that's speculation on my part. I'll add this to my list of things to research, and if I come up with the answer, I'll share my findings here. Thanks for the great question!
Such a great day
What is the origin of the Adena name?
If memory serves, The name Adena has been applied to Native Americans who inhabited the area, primarily because Adena is what Thomas Worthington named his estate. I believe they found earthworks on the estate and subsequently, they named the people after the estate. But Adena is from the Old Testament. (I think) it's the name of a soldier.
Starting Now ¹/⁷ Of The Comments Say That Alan Becker Was Born Here
The most famous person born in Lancaster was General William Tecumseh Sherman of the Civil War. His house is a museum now.
I can see my house from here! 😲
Greetings! I came across an interesting video that we would like to share with our audience. As a local blogger, we found it to be quite informative and believe that our readers would also benefit from it. May I have your permission to share it with them? We also are a local moving company and we love the art museum.
I certainly don't mind if folks share the link to my videos! Feel free to share the video link where ever you'd like. I don't typically allow people to embed or sample my videos because my music copyright is only valid on one platform at a time. Thanks for reaching out!

Thank you Marcus.
Thanks Marcus.
Thank you.
Ohio's northeastern region rices from the shores of Lake Erie and blooms with ethnic neighborhoods , the Rock and Roll and Pro Football Halls of Fame and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.It stretches beyond subturban areas into rolling hills where highways dissolve into country roads, Basically, people live and create the way they want to here, and it makes for an amazingly diverse, authentic set of experiences. It has the highest concentration of Hungarian Americans in the United States. Thank you for an interesting video from Chicago, Illinois. I salute the whole region.
As a Hungarian from Cleveland.... Neat.
Damn. They have ireland in ohio. God help us
Welcome to the Ohio Statehouse. We're glad you enjoyed a free guided tour. You camera person got very nice shots for this video.
We had a wonderful time! Our guide was fantastic. My favorite part of the tour was when we visited the Atrium and our guide explained the story behind the pigeon statue, over the Senate Building door. I'm looking forward to returning when it's warmer and enjoying Capitol Square a bit more. Also, thank you for the compliment! The quality of the footage you can record on an iPhone, today is incredible. It makes this kind of hobby a lot easier.
Watch out for trainwrecks.
thank for taking the time and effort to creeate this video :)
My pleasure! Thanks for taking the time to comment, too!
I went to bonzai exhibit and talk in about 1979. It sure has grown.
It certainly has grown! I joined the Conservatory team last year and I am constantly amazed by the all the programs and exhibits we create year after year. It's a wonderful place to visit and to work!
I'll have to focus more when next I watch this. My friends Clyde and Dawn Kennedy had a home behind a shop, actually two shops and a theater above. I lived spending time with both of them when I lived in Columbus.
The old theater is definitely visible in this video. My grandfather owned the Union76 garage in town. Clyde would often be at the garage talking with the other regulars. Clyde also built a beautiful cottage in West Rushville, with a few small outbuildings. It's still one of the prettiest properties in the area. His daughter owns it now, and she had been using it at an AirBnB. You can see it in the Simply Flying: A brief history of West Rushville video.
@@marcusshull Dawn told me once that I was the only one allowed to be around when he was making his cabin. The tinnitus that he had was severe, and got worse if he was around nosy people who kept him from work. I have often wondered who had the cabin now. HIS DAUGHTER Anita, or Eric's wife. Or just who.
Very cool, great work! A flying history lesson, many thanks!
Eastern Fairfield County has such a unique history, and I've always been fascinated with the history of the area. It was a wonderful area to grow up in. I appreciate the kind words!
I expected some zombies, weekly meteor shower and some giants.😕
Sorry to disappoint! Ohio has a lot of awesome things to see, but unless you visit Columbus around Halloween, you probably won't see too many zombies or giants. Meteor showers, however, we do get those on occasion. Thanks for the comment!
True bro, Ohio has lots of beauty now i seen it. But you took it so seriously 😄. Thanks for your reply.
I mean you can find some zombies in some areas lol. Mansfield, Elyria, Lorain, etc. A lot of Ohio is naturally beautiful though. It's the man made stuff that usually makes Ohio look worse. Like abandoned run down businesses all over Lorain County (north east Ohio) and newly formed homeless shanty towns due to poverty. We do have some hope though as there is a very large push to bring Intel fabrication to Columbus which should if done right boost jobs and economy in the entire state. We will see. P.S. we have some super diverse wild life here if you're into that. I get opossums, deer, cardinals, herons, humming birds, bats, frogs, toads, salamanders, turtles, an occasional nosy fox, coyote (dangerous keep away and discourage this visitor) even some lizards specifically three lined skinks around my property. Deer are a problem though. Personally I like them but not when they jump in front of my 23 year old Lincoln. It's very hard to find parts for that car and I love it lol.
