In this episode we spent the week of Thanksgiving adventuring all along historic route 66. We spent some time at Petrified Forest National Park and The Painted Desert before making our way to historic Kingman, AZ to visit with friends and fellow health coaches. We enjoyed a few days in the area and capped it off with a fun trip to the eccentric little town of Oatman, AZ. Man, I have to tell ya... there are a lot of asses there! The burro's or donkeys are pretty domesticated in the area. they just stroll the streets like us and even walk into the restaurants to be fed. It was a really cool experience. The road to get there was a journey in and of itself. The stretch of the Oatman Highway is a two lane road that was one of the earliest alignments of Route 66. This 8 mile stretch through the Black Mountains is know as The Sidewinder. It has 191 curves. turns, and switchbacks. The switchbacks through the mountains are jaw dropping. We definitely didn't take the rig on this trek as anything over 40 feet is not advised. The hairpin turns are just too narrow. We wrapped it up back in Yuma discussing some of our upcoming plans for the holidays and new year ahead! It was a fun way to spend Thanksgiving week and we sure are thankful and grateful every day for the opportunities and freedoms that choosing this lifestyle has given us. It all started by choosing to take our health seriously and then choosing to help others do the same. This opportunity is available to anyone bold enough to pursue it!
