Gaming laptops are a compromise for people who cant or dont want to spend the money on a work laptop and a gaming desktop. I myself have one that i bought back in 2017. I simply didnt have the money to buy a laptop and a desktop. I needed something portable i could take to university but i also wanted to be able to play CS. The gaming laptop fulfilled those requirements. Oh, and it looks normal. Its not a "iM a GaMuR" piece of RGB lit, Lamborghini looking crap.

Yeah, I bought a $3500 gaming laptop once. I had been an avid desktop-PC only-gentleman before than, but I decided to give it a chance. And of course, because I was very smart, I went with the most expensive option. What do you think happened? The fans on that beast went out within 3 years of course. Both on the CPU and on the GPU. I had to wait a month for the spares from China to arrive (it went through several countries and traveled around the world, because there was no direct way for me to order them), and when I got them installed... It turned out they were not powerful enough (not as powerful as the originals) and the overheating didn't stop even with the highest RPM and completely new coolers on :D So that laptop has been gathering the dust in the corner for a year, while I use my custom-built desktop PC and haven't experienced any issues with it for that year :D

Idk what Asus does differently than MSI but my Zephyrus weighs like maybe 10-15 percent more than my work-issued HP laptop. Ryzen 9/Nvidia RTX system runs Tarkov and Warzone just fine. It doesn't have a webcam thought that must be where the weight savings are

As someone who used to have a gaming laptop, the only reason i can think to get one is "i just want one computer i can use for everything." This is where i pretend to inhale deeply. Just buy a gaming desktop(!) thats around as good as the laptop you were looking to buy. Then use the leftover cash on a cheapo laptop that you use for everything but gaming so when you inevitability install stuff to hurt performance, or you go to a shady website, or you dont understand that those fans on the bottom are there for a reason, clean them you idiot, and the laptop dies you still have your desktop. Also that way all your cultural "art" browsing doesnt infect your good computer with every virus known to man.

I once bought a gaming laptop, worst mistake of my life, bitch broke in 2 years nothing could be repaired or replaced. Gaming PC and Business Laptop not only are a better option they will also prolly cost the same total amount combined especially if you know how to get good used PC parts and they are also both easier to repair and replace parts.
