Fabric hauls and sewing projects. I work on clothes, quilts, baby doll clothes, and look at the ridiculous amounts of fabric I get at thrift stores.
Another $5 Bag of Vintage Fabric
A large bag of mostly vintage fabrics. Lots of yellows and lots of clothing fabrics. Check out the end with a partially completed dress(?).

Two large-ish bags and one smaller bag of fabric. The two larger were originally marked $10 and were marked down to $5, while the smaller bag was $5. This is a continuation of the stuff I got in a single haul when I bought five $5 bags and the $6 bag.

Someone loved yellow 😅
Yellow is one of my faves!
Beautiful deal 😊
Thanks!
Lovely fabric bag! Great finds for sure 😊😊
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
That haul was a walk down memory lane. Love the pink/ turquoise double knit. Double knits are great for lasting power but the polyester is so hot to wear...good winter fabric. Have fun with the other bags. Can't wait to see. Bargain at $5.
The turquoise and pink was one of my favorites too. A quilt top I got in another haul was made up of double knit squares - the suggestion was to make it a picnic blanket since it is fairly rugged.
picnic blanket is a great idea !
I am sorry but you paid 30 dollars for someone's scraps, I don't think this is good deal. You could of taken. ThT same Mount of money and bought new fabric of your choice and made something you really liked.
I think scraps are great. I usually get several pieces that are over a yard and lots of variety, even if the pieces are small. I make a lot of doll clothes so the small stuff is great. Since a lot of nicer fabrics are 9.99 a yard and up, I know I've gotten some awesome deals. Plus, I really enjoy thrifting and so for me it's just like any other hobby that costs a bit of money. Thanks for watching!
viniger remives smells well removes
I do have lots of vinegar on hand. I think I'll soak one of the white fabrics in there that has both stains and smells and that may work out well. Thanks.
Oxi clean is my all time favorite thing to use .😊 nice haul.
I'll buy that on my next grocery run. I spent a while sewing the edges to prep for washing, with just a bit left to go so they'll be ready once I pick it up.
@KorinKreates I never think to sew before washing! I usually have a big mess to cut apart lol 😆 Have an amazing Monday and keep being you!
I cant wait to see what you make
I would love to see some of your finished projects.
I do have some stuff planned, I just have to make the patterns I want. Maybe I'll make a short of the girls' chemise and overdress (renaissance style) I made a video of and never finished editing, as well as the kilt and quilt I also worked on and never edited.
Hi
Hello.
❤ love the haul! Nice fines!
Nice haul. Love the Girl Scout patches, they sure are nicer than what we had in the 70s.
Love your videos. Umm i was thinking the blue squares at the end of your video were ment to be pocket squares or handkerchiefs?? And oh the Teddy bear fabric was supper adorable ❤ Enjoy your week 😊
They do seem about the right size for that. And pattern/color too. I can't wait to make a quilt out of the teddy bear fabric, it has great colors so it will be fun to match up other fabrics with it.
@@KorinKreates oh that will be sweet. I make memory bears so anything and everything teddy bear is so awesome!
I love these videos. The peach coloured 4.5 yards looks like double gauze. I am using some as the batting for a kantha quilt, but you can also make summer garments out of it.😊
I didn't even think about clothes for the gauze fabric, it would probably be nice to wear while dealing with the humidity.
@@KorinKreates You could go nuts and dye it. The possibilities are endless.
UseWD 40 on many stains. If you have a buildup of great or oil on your kitchen cabinets use WD40 and it come right off. And fabric also and will not stain your fabric if you can use hot water on the fabric
Use we 40 toed 40 is used to get many stains Wd40is use to many stains out.
My apologies, but I really have to ask: what's with the bandaid in every/most of your videos? Is it a tribute to WKRP ?
I injured my hand. It was a pretty gnarly cut that I was covering and it took a while to heal (still have a slight scar). Figured I could at least have some cute bandaid's to wear and not subject everyone to my injury. But I don't mind it being seen as a tribute to WKRP.
@@KorinKreates I'm glad it's not a serious injury, and happy you got the WKRP reference! I just see them in nearly every one of your haul videos; just concerned, thats all.. I've been binge watching them because you have a calm voice ans sound very down to Earth.
I just found your channel and I love your videos! I am obsessed with fabric! I do have a question…. do you make different items and sell them? You must have a world of fabric… which I would go nuts over!😀Will be watching ❤️❤️
I haven't sold anything I've made. I've made and given away some quilts and some kids clothes. I do have way too much fabric and I've been slowly organizing it while trying to make videos finish sewing projects. I do have a short showing a chunk of my pile of fabric.
@@KorinKreates thank you for your reply!❤️
thick canvas would make good grocery bags. Care Bears materials would make nice pillowcases.
I agree, I'll have to buy some strong braided strap so I can make some handles as well. I actually got a care bear pillow or two to cut out and sew so I'd have matching pillows for whatever I end up making.
The "canvas" could be used as the base for belts or wide cuff bracelets. Not sure if they are too thick for beading by hand, but you could glue larger items/beads/lace/etc . onto it; attach a belt buckle & have custom-made belt. Or use as straps for tote bags.
I think it would be too thick for beading, but it would be great for straps for a tote bag.
Fantastic haul! The last fabric made me think of 50s/60s bathrobes, night dresses, or shorts & button-up top PJs.
Hi, Korin - very nice haul.
Yech! My Thumbs Up button is missing, so having to comment/hit another person's comment button. Nice haul.
I think TH-cam is just cranky some days. Thanks!
That yellow satin would be pretty made into a Belle dress for a little girl or a doll.
I think so too. I got some other yellow and golds in another so I have plenty to make one. I have a pattern I think I can tweak to make the dress.
Jealous of the Cicely Mary Baker fairy fabric. I have a bunch of her Flower Fairy books & some ornaments. Plus my cat is named Cicely, by the pet rescue! I got her the very first day she was available for adoption. She has 1 blue & 1 green eye. A gorgeous tri-color calico. Several other people wanted to adopt her while I was waiting on the adoption papers.
It is a very cute fabric in person, probably almost as cute as your cat. I've got a muted calico, she is in a couple of my videos whether I wanted her to be or not.
I loved the cross stitch piece!! Frame it- hang it❤️❤️
The gold embroidered fabric reminded me of a silk kimono I picked up at the Officers' Wives Club Thrift store on the air base. Made in Japan & in perfect condition for $5. Wish I still had it even though it wouldn't fit me now. "sigh"
I believe the pink lace is intended to be inserted into a fabric seam on each side.... but you could also sew strips of it together into a piece of fabric to then create a garment.
I do have a lot of it to experiment with, so I think I will try something like that out. Thanks for the ideas.
I was thinking, because of the stretch, that it was for making slips, bras, panties, etc. I may be wrong, but just MHO.
That rainbow stripe would be nice as a binding
It would be cute as binding. I think it might match another fabric I have so I can use them together in a quilt, but if not, then that would give me a great second option, thanks.
The black stripe would be a beautiful blouse to wear with black pants or skirt for a dressy, party-type outfit. The small floral cotton would make a pretty sundress.
I like the idea for the black stripe. A little nervous as I haven't done a striped top yet and I know matching stripes can be a bit of a trial. It would look pretty though.
The brown print reminds me of a skirt I had when I was 12, in the 1960s. It was really cute, A-line- wore it with a chain belt. I loved the paisley fabric.
Great find lots of beautiful fabrics ❤😊
Beautiful fabrics thanks for sharing ❤
Have to add... I am jealous of your store you shop. Goodwill here is run by a greedy store-made billionaire. They HAVE nothing crafty priced below $ 1.99. Clothes/linens/etc. are ALL $4.99 & up. Only skirts & skorts & some Tees are $4.99 or lower. Standard price, due to his greed, is $6.99 to $12.99 OR higher!!!
It is sooo true. Our mainstream (goodwill, waterfront, teen challenge) stores are so overpriced. I occasionally luck out and get stuff half off at those, but I prefer my couple of small local owned ones the most..
After buying a 3 yard piece of fabric I LOVED @ a thrift store that was wrapped in masking tape & 60 % ruined by residue I swore " Never again". Stayed true to that vow for 20+ years. If it isn't wrapped in plain white fabric or has a tag attached I reject it. Have told many a store employee/manager they made the fabric unusable, thus unsellable by doing the tape wrap. I take no prisoners & make no apologies. I've worked in a thrift store, I'm a sewer & crafter. Don't destroy the merchandise, then complain it isn't selling!
The main reason I still take a chance is because I make a lot of smaller items (like doll clothes) so I can at least get some use out of them if they are ruined. It does make me pretty sad though sometimes.
I wish I was there with you to help you decide what to make. The green corduroy popped a lined vest in my brain. I think the cuts of cream fabric could be muslin. The blue and red stripes popped in a peasant blouse. The light grey popped in a jumper dress and lots of blouses in the lighter weight solids. The floral green definitely a dress! There you go, your whole wardrobe is now planned! LOL Get busy!
I think the fabric for the blue and red stripe actually would work really well as a peasant blouse. I am currently searching my patterns for the perfect dress for my floral green fabric. I know it will be cute.
So that silvery fabric that you showed I think that would look stunning under a black dress with like a peekaboo panel where that's part of the skirt I think it would be a beautiful accent to a black dress like a black clutch or something for the night and use it as the lining in the purse as well
Those are great ideas. That fabric would look great dressed up like that. I was having so much trouble trying to visualize it as something besides folded up fabric so I appreciate the inspiration ideas.
Loved your green corduroy....i've been collecting corduroy to make some patchwork bags and maybe a jacket with. It's a little difficult to find, but did find lots of pants at thrift stores to repurpose. Always fun to watch your videos.
If I see corduroy, I pretty much can't pass it up. I know your bag will be cute, I love patchwork corduroy projects. I'm working on a corduroy patchwork Christmas stocking made from all the scraps I got from my grandma.
@@KorinKreates Great idea and a gift from the heart. Love it.
All those small pieces of lace is a dream come true for someone like me who does slow stitching and junk journals. ❤❤ even the smallest pieces of fabric can be used on projects.
So true!
I love watching your videos, love see what you find out there.
Glad you like them!
I think the old cotton quilt top was a great find. Take it apart and find the name of the pattern ( the library would have books with patterns). Use the block you've saved to make a scale pattern ( you'll need a ruler and gridded paper). There are several ways to then make blocks, assemble the blocks, add a border then think about quilting ( there are several ways to do that). It's a long process but none of the steps are difficult. Forget about the double knit stuff, it's not worth your time. If you need help with this project go to the nearest quilt shop. Nice haul of sewing stuff. Good luck! h
Finding the pattern actually is a good idea, it isn't one I've seen before so it would give assembly suggestions. I have 20+ quilting books (more thrift finds) so I hope I'll be able to find it there. I'm going to hand wash it first to see how much of the fabric I'll be able to use, I'm just waiting for some warmer weather. I have several other quilt tops I found so I'll probably make a day of it. For the double-knit, someone suggested making it into a beach/picnic quilt with maybe a denim on the other side so I think I'll go that route since I'd love to have a blanket for that purpose.
I like your quilt fabrics you got. I don’t do anything but quilts with my fabric. The rest would have been donated back to them from me. I have a pile of green shamrocks for a one day green Irish quilt I also have a pile of fall fabrics for a fall quilt.
I enjoy quilting, but I've had some fun making clothes and doll clothes. I also have a pile of fabrics for a fall themed quilt.
Some nice fabrics!!! The black w/small pink flowers-perhaps shirts or pants for the young ladies. The white w/embroidery is called eyelet. The last, city hoppers would be great as a the start of a baby quilt; I’m thinking it would be easy to match other pcs of like colors. Keep us posted and have fun!!! ❤️😀
I have a lot of nursery prints and colors so I think I might be able to get a quilt out of the city hoppers.
👍😊
You’ll have Dresden plates coming out your ears..
I put all the pieces into a storage bin so I could go through them more carefully and get them organized to figure out my plan of attack. Seeing them all together really was something.
Omgoodness that was a fantastic lot for the amount of money you paid🤑 I was thinking the toile could be a center “panel” and then make blocks of other solid or tone on tone- blues, creams or maybe pale yellow to go around it. Then add a border or more depending on the size.!!! Just a thought. The other fabrics just so many options. The beauty of children’s clothes is they don’t take much fabric🤪 how old are they!?! Thanks for sharing, please show us what you’ve completed or do tutorials! ❤️😀
I do like that idea for the toile. That might work really well for making a bag. I make clothes for a 4 y/o and 7 y/o so I can make a lot of stuff with a yard or less.
10:01 is exactly my comforter, same colour too, but on a slightly bigger scale. So a doll comforter would be perfect! lol
I knew I'd seen the comforter in a store, thanks for confirming. I will definitely go that route.
Most of the stuff isn’t worth what you paid. Junk. When you make something out of it, shuu oh w us. I would hate to waste my time showing on any of it.
Thanks for the feedback!
You could use the shiny gray material in living room pillows for the coach.
I think it would be nice couch pillows. I think if I make them I'll give them to my sister because it would match her couch exactly, thanks.
Wow, so cool things! The white cotton might be good to make dolls. The red check fabric, the pretty stripe towards the end, would be good for Raggedy Andy's shirt & the stripe for both Raggedy Ann & Andy on the legs & there was some black for the shoes! I would make doll clothes, some dolls, stuffies & maybe pouches, wallets, & purses. I don't make adult or children clothes anymore. Getting too old. But a small quilt. Also, some for Seniors to keep busy with zippers & buttons, etc, on them, even a face with hair on it to brush or make into braids. A wallet that zips opens or a button. Maybe even velcro! Anyway, a few ideas! You probably know most of them. Thanks for sharing! ♥️☺️🫂🐾🦉🍄🧶🧵🪡🖌🖼📚✨️
The dolls are a really cute idea. I have a set of patterns for those dolls too. I've been working on some dolls clothes for my niece so this haul definitely had pieces I can use and I'm working on a video showing some of those.
Ohhh those are fantastic ideas, sounds like so much fun!!! ❤️😀
That red silk fabric would make a fancy comforter or bedspread for a doll. That's so exciting all those dresden plate quilt pieces!
I think it might be the perfect size for a comforter. When I saw how many quilt pieces were in that bag I was just shocked. Thanks for the right quilt name, my quick search for a name didn't work out.
