"Hello viewers! In this particular video, we are going to explain the structure of the educational system in India which is one of the biggest and complex in the world.
The Indian system of education blends ancient and contemporary ideas and practices. The Indian education system is primarily divided into four levels: primary, secondary, higher secondary, and tertiary. Education is regulated by the union and state governments, and a range of policies is set up by the Ministry of Education regarding education.
The education system is based on primary education where students are taught the basic subjects i.e. mathematics, science and languages. Secondary school and at higher secondary level education, students are coached to sit interviews for entrance purposes for example, Indian institutes of technology, Indian institutes of management, All India Institutes of Medical Sciences.
The higher level of education in India consists of various subjects starting from engineering going to medicine, arts, commerce etc. There are several institutions and university across the country that are well reputed internationally. But the system has also deep problems cut across high student teacher ratio, imbalances in areas of the country and non-affordability issues.
In recent years, there are also new changes such as the National Education Policy 2020 which aim to improve the system by bringing in concepts such as multi discipline based educational system, vocational based education".
