A runner in his 70s. While my journey has had its ups and downs, the longest break I’ve taken lasted nearly a decade. That hiatus followed back surgery, which became my excuse to step away from the sport I love. Around 2018, I made a firm decision to return to running, even though my initial attempts looked more like the shuffle of an injured penguin. Now, several years later, I find myself in perhaps the best shape of my life.
In addition to running, I have a deep passion for videography, which has allowed me to document and share these experiences with you-my audience.
I warmly invite you to view, enjoy, and share these passions with anyone who may appreciate them as much as I do.

Monticello Trail Run 9/1/24 @sidneyrevels5162
Today's run took me up the Saunders-Monticello Trail to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. The two-mile ascent is a mix of gravel paths and elevated boardwalks, winding through lush forest before reaching the main visitor center. From there, it’s another half-mile up to Monticello’s grounds, where a ticket is required for entry. I was fortunate to receive an exceptionally generous veteran’s discount, and naturally, I opted to run the trail instead of taking the shuttle.
Once inside, the adventurer in me took over. Exploring the grounds was a true pleasure-running and walking through the beautifully maintained gardens, past the historic slave quarters, and around Monticello itself. The blend of history and nature made the experience unforgettable.
Of course, the videographer in me couldn't resist going all out. I captured some great footage and managed to edit it all into a fun, four-minute film. Hope you enjoy watching it!

Today’s run started at the trailhead of a scenic 2.5-mile path that winds along the Rivanna River, beginning in Darden Towe Park in Charlottesville, Virginia. During the run, by chance, I met a cyclist who had extensive knowledge of the trail's history. Gathering the courage to ask, I requested to film him on the spot. What followed was an unscripted, spontaneous interview that became the threa...

Today, I’m visiting one of Virginia's earliest railroad tunnels, built in the 1850s at Afton Mountain, between Waynesboro and Charlottesville. This place holds special significance for me, as I first came here over 65 years ago. Want to know why? You'll have to watch the video to find out!

Very enjoyable! Well done Sid 👏🏼🎬
WOW... That's incredible 😍 keep these videos coming ❤
This was a very informative video of an area in Old Virginia where Thomas Jefferson would have walked and would have explored. You did an excellent presentation Sidney. Your work to provide information on prominent issues goes back to the Killian Senior High School days of the 1980s in Miami, Florida. As a teacher at Killian then, I found your help with projects in the Classroom to be invaluable. This video of the Charlottesville Virginia area reenforces the love Thomas Jefferson held for his home, Monticello, and for his beloved University of Virginia. Great show Sid.
