Replacing '96 2.8l 3L Hilux Water Pump, Timing Belt & Injectors
Once again with the help of Shayno from SKC FAB 4X4 here in Townsville, we replace my water pump, timing belt and get the injectors reconditioned in my 1996 LN107R 2.8l 3L N50 Hilux.
Need to apologise for the fan noise in the background, I'd forgotten my mic and it was bloody hot the day we filmed this so couldn't go without it!
Hopefully this video can help you do this work yourself in your own garage/shed. 99.99% of the things I've done myself on my car have been with the aid of a how to video someone else has made!
Massive shoutout to Shayno, the man is an absolute legend and he's always teaching me stuff along the way!
Any questions you may have guys chuck em in the comments down below, if you would've done something a different way, chuck that in the comments too!
There's always something we can learn from someone!
Enjoy - Dan

JUST RACE PARTS WATER TEMP GAUGE INSTALL IN AN N50 LN107 HILUX
มุมมอง 2.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Recently had my mate Shayno from SKCFAB 4X4 install the new JRP Edge water temp gauge. This was installed in a 1996 LN107 Toyota Hilux 2.8l 3L. Can’t trust the old Hilux factory gauges so now I know exactly what the temps are doing in this old boy! Hope this video can help someone else if they install one of these. There’s a few of Shayno’s tricks in here that’re good to know!

Can’t actually remember sorry mate I just told my local Toyota dealer that I was doing the job and they supplied me all the parts I’d need.

just about 21'000 km away from 400'000 on my LN107 aswell. Getting ready for this exact job! Really interesting to hear about the engine settling down on idle, mine is a little wobbly too, so thats really good to know.

What temperature did you set your alarm to? Mines reading 98 degrees Celsius up a long incline

I set mine for like 105 I think… can’t remember but these old rigs can get got under stress for prolonged periods. I’ve got mine getting down to 82 degrees doing 110km on the highway now. Going up a long, steep windy range it got up to 98 degrees but as soon as it flattened out it came back down to 82.

Thinking of getting jrp gauges how do you like the one you have

Mate I love it hey, it’s the only digital gauge I’ve owned so I’ve got nothing to compare it to, but I certainly can’t fault it. Looks great, seems to give an accurate reading when comparing the reading to a temp gun pointed at the thermostat housing where the sender is located.
