I decided it’s time to finally upgrade my kit! I’ve stuck at it for long enough to feel like it’s well deserved. I tried to cherry pick only a few things that I feel will pack a punch into this creative journey whilst still keeping it minimalistic. This is my first time with artist grade paints and a sable hair brush so I am excited to see what the difference in quality will be! The items chose...

Amazing
Oh thank you 🥰
Perfect!
Thank you☺️
So pretty
Chromium oxide green is a nice one too :)
Ooo I just had a browse and it does look like a very nice, natural one 😍
Obsessed
Proper cute
I’m glad you think so 🥰
Fantastic evolution!!
Thank you! That’s the beauty of keeping a sketchbook, it’s nice to look back and see the progress over time
I agree, sketching my British passport cover was surprisingly challenging. Soo many ornaments!
Right!? I initially thought this was going to be an easy one 😅
Looks very fun *✧・゚love how u organize the prompts on the spreads!
Thank you! I like to work on composition and I’m happy that you like it 🥰
Hardest artist in the scene
In your biased opinion but I’ll take it 🫡
Love my Sailor Fude. Never leaks, I keep it in the bottom of my purse. Just be sure to seat the prefilled cartridge. I currently use a converter, this allows me to use waterproof ink in the pen. The original ink is a water soluble ink and it smudges when I apply watercolor over a line drawing.
Happy Inktober ❤
I love Maltesers too! So more-ish! 👍🏼 on the new paint set :) hope they give you many hours of creative enjoyment!!!
Ikr! Can never eat just a couple maltesers at a time
Forceful, unpunctual, inspiring!
Thank you, thank you 😅
FAVEEEE
Thanks kernite 🥰
Yay! You’re back! Clicked IMMEDIATELY…. Edit it’s funny the world has come to such delicacy that you have to apo for the way you hold your pen…it’s your content mate! You do you! You’re very brave for making content and putting your art out there and much too nice, I’m thinking. Cheers and have a good one! Edit 2 I am just using my Lamy Safari and some fineliners + that is the tiniest dog I have ever seen. So far BINOCULARS have been my favourite…
As always, thank you for the loveliest comments, it really means a lot! It is the tiniest dog ever, as long as it somewhat looks like a 4 legged animal it’s good enough for me 😂 I’m glad you liked the binoculars, it turned out better than expected! I find that it’s alway the ones that i least expect to look nice that end up looking nice. I’ve heard lots of good things about the lamy safari so I may give it a try sometime! For now I’ll wait till my nib breaks from holding it upside down 🫣
Hey missing you! I know you said you will be combining the next few prompts into one video, so I’m pretty sure you’re ok and on track but I’m just leaving some encouragement, a virtual hug and this cup of coffee for you ☕️ I’m so glad you’re here on TH-cam, really encouraging for us complete noobs. Please keep posting videos your content is AWESOME! You, Zach Hayes and Zoehartist are the ones I am mainly following for this (my first) Inktober… @Zoehartist @palspaints
Thank you so much for such a sweet message and your encouragement! I am indeed well and plodding along with inktober whenever I find the time. I will be coming back with more videos shortly, I’m glad you’re enjoying them! I hope it’s going along smoothly for you too 😊
❤
I’m watching this entire series with great joy and pleasure, thanks for posting!!!
I’m so happy you’re enjoying it☺️ I’ve been a bit busy so will probably put the next few prompts into one video to catch up!
@@palspaints oh ok I’ll be travelling next week (not for fun, I’m afraid) so I’m afraid I’ll be inconsistent but I have prepped a coupla pencil sketches beforehand….
You really have talent in sketching and drawing , i just done a bird one of those with a very big yellow bec , sorry i do not know how to do videos and how to post my work . Thank you for the video , amicalement
Thank you so much! I also thought of drawing an exotic bird too, but then felt this was simpler 😂 did you draw a hornbill bird by any chance?
I love the arrangement on the pages , i love the style of drawing , i also done the same items for the prompts but very different way . Even i am keeping my drawings very very simple but it takes hours just for a small simple drawing . I am old now and i take my time i do not even notice . Thank you for the videos , amicalement
Ah yes a one month art challenge is somewhat a long commitment so keeping things simple definitely makes it more manageable to stick to. I hope you are enjoying it and don’t even realise the hours passing by 😌 I’m so pleased to hear that you like the style and composition, thank you 🥰
In love
Absolutely love it omg!
@@coffeenewt220 thank you, appreciate it ☺️
soo sorry for that spill! haha ir hurt! Just got one of these... the converter fell out of place while inside the pen and the ink just flooded in the inside :( I wonder if I am supposed to leave a smaller cartridge with the converter so that this doesnt happen. When I bought it it had two cartridge inside so I think maybe we are supposed to have it like that so that they dont detach? any thoughts? I did carry my pen in a bagpack with lots of movement...
The spill was so painful! all that platinum carbon ink just wasted 🥲 not to mention all the mess! Ah that is such a shame yours leaked too, it shouldn’t have happened. Is your converter compatible with the pen? I specifically got a pack of sailor fude ink converters and make sure it’s screwed on properly. I haven’t left the cartridges in mine
Love this
You have really good lines, keep it up.
@@cangunes6537 thank you, appreciate it ☺️
I didn't even consider this when I was looking at the prompts! I love it!
It was the first thing that came to mind! That’s the thing I like about inktober, seeing what others thought of for the same prompt
Beautiful! Keep it up.
@@fleurdeb7803 thanks!🥰
Yes. It was usefull and inspring for me.
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful 😊
Wow ❤👍🏼
Thank youu ☺️
Not sure about the prompts, I was too busy watching your fountain pen being held upside down?
Haha it’s irked a few people before! 🫢 It’s got an angled nib so different angles give different line thicknesses. The back of it is the thinnest but you have to be careful not to press too hard
i enjoyed your flip through! 😊
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Great Tutorial 🎨
Thank you 🥰
I actually like this year's prompts. They go with an unrealized collection from a Colorado Rockies camping trip in Summer 2018. But I'm also feeling inspired to go renegade and create my own prompt list and use other media. It'll be interesting to see which way everyone goes and the resulting posts. 💖
Good luck with it! I use other media such as watercolour too. The Colorado camping trip sounds like a vibe 😍 you could definitely take inspiration from that and make it into your own sort of travel sketchbook journal!
I like this years prompts because i can make horrific designs on basic mundane objects and try to push those limits
Exactly this! They’re a lot more manageable to work with this year I think
We're allowed to use watercolor???
It’s a personal preference, I don’t see why not! I’ll be using ink but adding watercolour too
❤
@5:03 that's awesome! i was born there, do you have a link so i can check out his insta?
His Instagram is @trailboundsketches It looks like an amazing place with so much wildlife and natural beauty. I would love to travel their one day 😍
I'm looking forward to it,🥰🥰 i have not drawn since February so I'm starting today with a simple drawing. I've participated in the Inktober challenge these past two years with a small pocket sketchbook and i will try to and make bigger drawings each day.🎃🎃🦇
That’s a great way to go about it! I also use pocket sketchbooks for less pressure and try to make quicker and simpler drawings. All the best!
Nothing about these prompts feel exclusive for October. I thought that was the point. So, I may just do my own thing. Everyone else, have fun, ya'll!
It would have been nice to incorporate some autumnal things too. I was hoping go sketch some pumpkins, hot drinks, crunchy leaves ect. I’ll see if I can try to incorporate some of them in these prompts. All the best with your process and have fun too!
Loved this, subscribed immediately. Do you take channel requests: would you please do one on artists and tutorials you’ve followed/found useful here on TH-cam? Would really like to know more about your process. It seems realistic and accessible and not so scary/unapproachable. Love your energy and vibes. More power to you and the channel ❤ I love how you noted down which tute it was in the corner of your sketch, so useful, implementing immediately!!!
Oh thank you so much, this made my day!☺️ I’m glad you think so. I try not to stress about making the art look realistic and perfect. As long as I capture the essence and character whilst I’m enjoying the process then I’m happy with it. My current favourite TH-cam art channels are Cao Becky, I love how she sketches her everyday life, even the ordinary things. She is a big inspiration to me. I also enjoy watching Taria’s sketchy adventures and koosje koene on TH-cam for useful tips, they have a very easy going and accessible style too. I’ll be making some process videos during inktober!
@@palspaints Thank you so much for your response, I’ve screenshotted your comment and will go check out those channels for sure. I’m still learning the basics. Best of luck for Inktober and I’ll sure keep an eye out for your vlogs. Lots of love and respect ❤️👍🏼
So nice sketches 😮😊
Thank you!🥰
I’m not using the prompts. Nor posting online. I’m working on a book and will be printing in black and white so it’s an excellent opportunity to prep and attempt to get one illustration for the book done each day. I’m prepping before October now. So reference, thumbnail sketches, designs and even the pencils as well as picking the ink and prepping plans on how I will be inking. More research and inking practice in the lead up as well!
I’m impressed with your organisation skills! Good luck with the book, it sounds interesting 🤩
@@palspaints Thanks! Today I have been gathering reference for more action packed humanoid poses!
Great tips!! I'm prepairing too🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!, I’m glad you found them helpful. All the best and have fun!😊
@@palspaints Thank you!! You have fun too🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@palspaints Thank you!! I hope you have fun too🥰🥰🥰🥰
Inspiring video !
i draw on my iPad mini 6, can i draw in procreate inktober? as some of them on instagram says we can but are more creative then this list.
I know it’s typically done in ink but by all means you can put your own spin on it too! So go ahead and use procreate if that’s the medium you like. I add watercolors to mine because that’s my preference 😊
Omg fave TH-camr posted again
beautiful book, I love the dog at the river :)
Thank you! Appreciate it
So I have a question this will be my first inktober I am a beginner artists and my Drawing skills are not where I want them to be my drawing sometimes don't always turn out the way I want them to so my question is does your drawing level matter for this challenge or does not matter? I'm also very interested in ink that's something I've been gravitating to but my inking skills are still in the beginner stages I'm a little nervous whether to do it or not so I thought I'd ask for any advice if you have some?
The challenge is for everyone and for you to enjoy so don’t worry about creating perfect pieces of work each time. You can use inktober as a way to practice drawing and get better. We improve with consistency so just enjoy the journey and it’ll happen naturally 😊 If you don’t feel confident with ink then you can do light pencil sketches first and then go over it with any form of ink, even just a simple ballpoint pen can work wonders, it’s up to you whichever kind of ink you want to use.
@@palspaints thank you for answering my question I appreciate it
Beautiful
Thank you 🥰
