@@scrapnsalvage The more concentrated, the better it should work. In the grocery store you should find vineger with up to 15% acid. Here where I live it's called "vineger essence" but I don't know if you can translate it word by word. Maybe some other acids could also work and are even better so solve the metals, but these are often hard to get, like the best you could get your hands on (don't get it on your hands) for this, would be a mix of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid called aqua_regia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqua_regia). But whatever you try, work safe. Wear gloves and goggles and don't handle such hazardous substances indoors.

Mate keep at it for getting some pointers youtube will be your best friend. There are plenty of people that melt into ingots and buff them nice to mirror finish then store them. I'm not too sure I understand why they do that I am of the mind to scrap something and smelt it to get a better return. Unfortunately by the time you factor in the smelting equipment purchase and gas sometimes the difference between downgraded material and 1st grade material is not very different so hard to make it pay. As you mentioned in the video there is always the fun of just doing the smelting and that's worth something.

I am not sure if you realize it but bees wax is not to put on top of the molten brass, it is used to wipe a thin layer of wax on your ingot mold when hot. A candle is just as good. When melting brass add borax when the crucible is full. Only when you are ready to pour scrape the slag off once and then pour. If you keep on scraping the slag off and then reheat you will lose so much brass. What you see burning is the zinc vapourising. I hope this helps.

Electric motors are absolutely worth stripping for the copper wire right down to 2" diameter. It takes up less room while hoarding it than all metals but lead. Bugger giving profits away to the scrapyard. I see you bothered taking the steel off the copper ally radiators for the better price- so the motors not being stripped is surprising. Copper prices go up and down seasonally so you could be missing 2 bucks a kilo cashing it just anytime. I have a 1 tonne payday planned for all grades of my copper so the difference in prices can mean a $2k loss if I don't pay attention. The steel pays the fuel cost and more, ally, stainless, and lead get me a nice bonus regularly and the copper will get me a nice car or something big in a couple more years. Surely when ally is worth cleaning, copper is worth it more.
