What is that diamond tool what you use first on this video ? Before you start use strops... Are you selling those diamond tools as well ?
Congratulations!
I recently ordered the SFK no 14 from you guys and will be looking forward to using it.
NICE!🙏 SFK 8 here we go!
Just did this. Thanks so much for this tutorial! It turned my light brown sheaths into almost black. Curious how they are when dry. Next, I will try it with an undyed sheath and see what happens. Thanks again!
Great to hear it!
Beautiful N8
Thanks Stephan! 🙌
a Casstrom knife is on my short list, I will let it in my Volvo 😋
@@MrComint That sounds like a plan! 👌😁
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Hi. What is the cost of the one you had in your hand in the beginning of the video with the wood? Beautiful knife! Thank you and have a good night
Hi there! Thanks for commenting on our video :) The knife is the Safari with Curly Birch, and here is a link for more info:- www.casstrom.com/search/safari
Check out the new no.8 knife here www.casstrom.com/knives/fixed-blad/no8-sfk-curly-birch.html
Hi,what diamond stone are you using there? Cheers
Hi there! We used a Dianova sharpener. These sharpeners are made in northern Sweden (about two and a half hours from Casström) and are available here:- www.casstromdistribution.se/en/knives/sharpeners/ (UK CUSTOMERS ONLY) casstrom.co.uk/collections/swedish-made-diamond-sharpeners We hope that helps! :)
Looks a fantastic knife - I wish you all the best with it. I'm turning into a bit of a Casstrom fanboy - I absolutely love my Woodsman and LF, but also the 'support' products like the strops are great. Casstrom just seems a company that cares about its products and charging reasonable money, unlike a lot of others. These are knives built to be used and they really excel in the hand and the forests - no spec-monster cabinet queens these! That said, they look great with well specced wood and very nice sheaths - knives you're proud to own and use.
Thanks for the thumbs up, James! It's always good to hear that people appreciate what we are trying to do 😊🙌
i just learned how to sharpen a scandi grind without making it look ugly thank you
That sort of comment warms the heart! We're glad if we could assist in some small way - makes it worthwhile! 😃

@@darrengreaves3068 hi and thanks for your question. This knife works well even for larger hands since it is so round and simple in design. I think will work well for you but here is really only one way to know and it is to try. These things are very individual. I haven’t met anyone yet who didn’t say it felt great in the hand. 😄
Excellent thank you so so much for getting back in touch sorry for late reply take care guys

Looks like a combination of of the no10 and woodsman grip with a lars falt blade, very nice!
Thanks! 🙌
@@CasstromSweden is it going to be available in blade only also? Love to make them in custom handle materials. My woodsman in walnut is my favorite but i also have nice wavey ash laying around waiting for a piece of steel
@@TheHM78 Yes, eventually. but it will be a few months
Hello, this looks very interesting. I will check out the green micarter. I have and use a no 10 in 14C28N. A great looking knife.
It would be a good companion for the No.10 👌
Congratulations to David, Leo and all the Casstrom staff for delighting us with wonderful news 🤩BRAVISSIMI👏
Thanks! 🙌
What a Beauty! 🤩💯👍🏻
Cheers, Steve!
Small blades are miles better but 3mm is best
Yes, we feel it offers something different to our bushcraft knives with thicker steel. Modelled on a traditional Swedish utility knife 👌
Nice 🤠
🙌
Oh the tease
😂
I need small campcraft knife. Small blade and small handle for my small hands. Hard to find bushcraft knife with small handle. Not everybody has big hands.
This could be just the thing! 😉
Hot as chip fat! Cant wait!
😂
What, no sneak peek at the blade profile? The No 10 has a 10cm blade. The No 14 has a 14cm blade. Is this just an SFK with an 8cm blade?
We're going to show the knife in full on the livefeed next Wednesday! 👍😊
@@CasstromSweden Can’t wait to see it in full. Might sound a silly question, but how hard would it be to cut your blade steel? I’m thinking of getting a No14 and cutting 4cm off and turning it into a broken back Seax, a No10 SFS Swedish Forest Seax. I’ve got an idea for the sheath for it, a normal belt loop for right hand use but where the ferro rod tube would be is where I would attach it to the dangler. So it could be worn on the left side in a cross draw configuration.
Nice idea. So how hard would it be? Well, it depends on the equipment you have available but it is going to be very hard to cut the steel. I would recommend grinding the front off slowly, cooling the blade in water very carefully between each short stint on the grinder. You have to ensure you don't overheat the blade, so be very patient. Whatever you try, ensure you cool the blade very carefully to avoid issues. Best of luck!
🤩Bravi👏
Thanks! 🙌
Needs more close up my friend .
Yes, Probably :)
I reconnected with the outdoor realm after a major lifestyle change. I am the first in my family's recent history to seriously venture outdoors. I started without any knowledge on the subject. Early in my journey I recognized that a knife is the most important tool in 'bushcraft'. Ignorant and overwhelmed with a seemingly endless amount of options, I stumbled across the Casström No.10 SFK in Curly Birch / Scandi / Sleipner (non-cryo). I decided it would be 'good enough' and committed without really understanding what I was purchasing. Years later I am armed with advanced knowledge, skills, and exposure to a countless amount of different knives. Although some knives have tempted me, nothing has lured me away from the No.10 SFK. It is pretty much perfect in every way for my needs. It truly is an enchanted object which carries the soul of its maker and Swedish Lapland. This is a knife for life and I am so grateful to the Casström team for this, and many other, wonderful creations. Excited to visit your showroom on my next trip to Lapland. Best wishes, Tristan Seath
Thank you Tristan! Great to hear your story and we are so pleased to hear you like our No.10. We love it too :)
I'm a noob in bushcraft knives but it seems around 4mm thick blade with flat grind won't shine either in food prep or in woodwork. With such thickness I believe it makes sense to go for scandi version and take regular kitchen knife separately for food prep. For each task there should be a separate knife otherwise it won't do any task good enough but all the tasks averagely.
The steel is 4mm to start with but is more like 3,6 at the spine and tapers towards the tip. Since the blade grind gets gradually thinner towards the edge it doesn't feel thick. It works perfectly for food prep as well as carving wood. Where it is less effective is when it comes to splitting.
@@CasstromSweden makes sense, thank you
Love that little knife, which brand is it?
Thanks, it is a Casstrom Lars Falt Lock Back www.casstrom.com/knives/folding-knives/casstrom-lars-falt-lock-back-folding-knife-curly-birchscandi.html . Can also be found from knife retailers around the world.
@@CasstromSweden thank you
But the blade isn't pretty anymore , ya cant bushcraft with a scratched up bevel , especially on TH-cam 😂
:) We prefer the "vintage or worn in" look.... you should see how some of us stroll around the office!
Are the scales removable? Or are they epoxied on?
how can they be removable? They got pins, no screws.
Thanks for the question! No, the scales are not removable.
This is really the best Bushcraft Knife, thx for this wonderful tool 👍🏻.
Thanks for your support - we really appreciate it!
