@searches04 Not true. I usually get alerted 1.5 to 2 miles before I come across any police using a radar. Nobody can see a car even just 1 mile out. Why would you say such nonsense. Do a little bit of research.

@aholegunner I already have one. If you're in his vision it's too late. Radar detectors don't always work. Especially if the cop is using instant on.

@@searches04 Get a better one. Uniden r8 detects even the weak bounce signals at long range from the cop hitting other cars, well before you get into line of sight. It's saved me from blind side speed traps a mile away.

That is not how it works bro. Do some research before you spew nonsense. So you're saying when I am over 2 miles away, and my detector goes off non-stop for those 2 miles, that they are catching my speed and all other hundreds of cars within those 2 miles at the same time? That is not how it works. The radar does not have to point at you. Their radar just had to be on, to be detected from hella far. Trust me on that. Now, it is possible to have it NOT go off, if they are using an actual non car mounted radar gun on the side of the road. If the gun is off and they happen to accurately touch you with the radar signal right after turning the gun on, then you could get caught in an instant without knowing they're there. It is unlikely, though, unless you are close to them as radar guns need to be aimed. The further away you are, the harder they are to aim. In that case, you can almost always slow down in time.

I drive thru Kansas with an Uniden R8 and It would start going off 2-3 miles away before I seen the cop. Kansas is very flat though. Radar detectors are meant to alert you miles before you come across cops. No one would buy them if they alerted you when the cops was 500ft away. They alert you from miles away.
