That looks like a sweet upgrade! I am wonering if there are bumpers under the hood of a Jk like there are on my YJ. But now I want to upgrade these top bumpers too.

installation "instructions" for the CJ7 prop rod are a joke. all it says is "remove original and replace with new hardware". doesnt help when there was no original hardware to begin with

Piece of cake install, thank you for your guidance (but I wouldn’t recommend using a screw driver the tops of these bushings are paper thin, I use a 1/2 inch wood chisel it worked perfectly).

Christ sake, show how to install it. Your instructions are horrendous and I don’t have an existing rod installed to refer to.

Can these be painted to match the body? I already have paint but I've never heard of painting stainless steel.

Wonder what the weight limits are of that? Thinking about a small HF radio that would weigh more than your typical tiny CB.

Just installed this on a 2007 jku. For the taillight, the white wire with purple stripe was not the correct wire on my jeep. What I did to find the right one: connect the ground Take the red wire and touch the pins until the light turns on. Tap that wire. Hope that helps someone

Is there no way to get switched power from the tailgate latch wiring rather than going all the way to the tail light for the plate light?

Can the Removal Tool be used to push the JL factor bushing UP from the bottom as done with JK kit? Seems there's some damage done using the "screwdriver/mallet" method.

Will removing the spare cause my tire pressure light to come on?

Installed this last night following this video and the included instructions. The problem I’m having is that I’ve got power to the license plate light, but the brake light will not work. I have the red spliced into the white/ purple & the black spliced to the black. Any suggestions?

Did you use any of the washers? I see what washers go with the inside body hinges but where do I put the washers on the outside hinges? There are small ones that go were the nut and washer goes but then I have 2 washers that are even smaller . The small ones has a gap in the washer

i watched this video after stripping the head off of all the screws on my left door hinge. I am now going to have to drill them out to replace them. Jeeps are just a pain to work on.

There’s only one issues that I have is the license plate lights has peeled off and it’s too bright. So I have utilized a bolt on led lights. So far the third brake lights is holding. Other than the item is good.

For anyone worrying about ordering the wrong kit.You do not need to order the older kit.Either kit will work on the older jks no problem.You only need to trim the very edges of the plastic vent cover of the back door.It took me 5 minutes with a razor knife and pliers.Besides,after everything is bolted on you cannot even see the vent cover.Easy easy easy to do guys.Not sure why anyone would ever send it back an wait for a slighy different one.All the bolt holes line up perfectly as well.Just a heads up guys,dont stress.It looks great an works perfectly.Great product imo.

**IF YOU HAVE AN '09 JK READ THIS*** Some late '09 model JKs have to use the 2010-2017 kit shown on this video as they were built with the newer tailgate from factory. I have an '09 JK and ordered the 07-09 kit and had to return it to buy the 2010-2017 kit. (I'm currently in that process. I can't wait to install - I'm riding with no license plate light at the moment.) Take a look behind the spare tire mount and look at what kind of air vent you have. If it's the long one up and down, then you need the 07-09 kit; however if if your Jeep has the long one side to side then you need the 2010-2017 kit shown in this video above. I don't know about the 2018 JKs; I guess they fit the 2010-2017 kit also, but I'll let Kentrol Inc. (or a 2018 JK owner) answer that. Hope that helps.

What are any advantages of using these hinges over stock one? They don't seem to look or perform any different.

Just ordered this kit for my 2012 JK and can't wait to install it. Installation looks straight forward but I do have a wiring question: why did you opt to splice into the 3rd brake light wiring rather than to simply go to the 3rd brake light connector?

Just installed. Great product. My ONLY suggestion would be to use a better gauge wire. The wires are way too thin. Other than that a nice way to run without a spare.

Is there a video on how to remove the stock license plate bracket and then plug it? I'm more concerned about what to do with the wiring for the license plate light.
