DIY Kitchen Island Build
This is a video about how i built a kitchen island for my wife. I don't have a woodworking shop or fancy equipment. I hope that this encourages people to build their own project, just as other videos in the TH-cam community helped me to have the confidence that i needed in order to build this.

Husqvarna POWERBOX 2 years later...
มุมมอง 1.8Kปีที่แล้ว
This is a review of the Husqvarna POWERBOX after having it for about 2 years. This review goes over the features and usefulness of the box and why its a good buy. This POWERBOX holds everything that you would need to cut firewood. It is also easy to transport on a quad, in the truck, or with the tractor. You can stack on top of this and due to its shape, it is nice to fit in with your other too...

The best way to anchor a firewood tarp!
Bought the last one on the shelf, Unfortunately the Ignition shit the bed a week in. Back it went... smh
Sorry to hear that. I hope the return was seamless for you though..
Looks like it works well, but I just can't get over the fact that I'd need electricity to operate my propane heater when i can get 30k BTU's just like this one for 35 dollars cheaper at the same store by purchasing the dual head tank top heater. I'd want my propane heat to work in an emergency outage for $100. But for a dedicated shop heater It would get the job done for sure
That's a very valid point that i didn't think of. I have a tank top heater, but it just does not throw heat like this one. Maybe i will have to make a video for SHTF heat. Thanks for pointing that out, and thanks for taking the time to watch!!
@@aroughperspective no problem it was a good video and very timely for me. We're getting hit by this storm on the VA/NC border and ended up going another direction for emergency heat because i spotted that in your video. Saved me time/money and a drive through a worse winter event than they were forcasting. It went from about an inch of snow + a little ice total to 1.5-2 inches an hour for the next several hours.
Well hopefully you're doing OK. Check out the video on the Lucy Light for emergency. We just had an outage the other night and used them again. Also make sure your first aid is up to snuff. Stay safe my friend!!
@@aroughperspective oh yeah we're all good here. I make sure the household is prepped for most scenarios.
WOW....Beautiful Rolling Island...Great Design & Functionality....Harbor Freight may have supplied some parts...but the only place you can find the Love in it is in Your Heart❣️
I appreciate the kind words and the love you put into your comment!
Nicely Done! I'll send you my order soon. Lol. Do you see the need to apply cutting board oil to the butcher block seperating? to keep it from seperating?
we applied 3 coats of butcher block oil. we are doing a butcher block conditioner after that. She has been waiting to use it so i will probably do conditioner this weekend.
My concern is it would heat my space up too well.
i have found that it gets my garage warmed up pretty quickly, then i have to shut it down.
a wrench for people who don't have tools lmao beautiful
thanks for taking the time to watch
Great video. Very informative and professionally done. Thanks!
I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
If you tie a golf ball underneath the tarp, do a clove hitch over top. You will not rip your tarp and you’ll be able to pull as hard as you want!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the advice. I was literally minutes from tying bricks to the gromets. I understand how this system adds pressure from the top, not pulling down from the bottom.
@@papageo5 thanks for taking the time to watch
How big is the garage tho?
my garage is only a 2 car garage. I think it would do ok heating a larger area as well. Thanks for watching
Just picked up one with coupon paid $85 seems to be pretty decent
What was the temperature in the room after you heated.?
i think the temp when i shut it off was 67. Thanks for taking the time to watch
I purchased a few of these, and I have to say it’s one of the best longterm investments I made. Those plastic cans will degrade especially those smaller plastic parts which will be a nuisance to replace and fix. I also don’t know of too many gas cans that come with a 10yr warranty. That just goes to show you that justrite stands behind their products.🫡
They definitely are a good investment. Thanks for watching!
Cool 😊 will do! Lots of wind here.. question for you; it's very cold here and we also have a lot of snow.. I'm considering white vs dark tarps .. I'm wondering if a dark one might produce more heat and if that might make a noticeable difference..
Thats a great question. I have a green waxed canvas tarp and it gets tough to move around when it gets real cold. Its a good heavy tarp though and has lasted a few winters already. I think the best thing is to try to address the snow in increments as it falls. I looked for durability rather than color when i was shopping for a tarp. The website i got mine from is www.tarpsupply.com/ they had decent pricing. I hope this helps a little. Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
Great video. I wouldn’t personally split wood between my legs for fear of a hit skipping of the end and catching my shin. Whatever works for you!
you're past your shins when striking, but do whatever is the safest for you. thanks so much for taking the time to watch and make a constructive comment!!
great review!
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch it and for the kind words!!
I just bought one got a deal on it to payed less then 30$ normally going for 39.99
Good for you! I isometimes try to wait for the deals, but it seems like i usually buy at the wrong time. LOL You are definitely going to like it. Thanks for taking the time to watch!

Nice work great video. 👍
Thanks 👍
You didn't shoiw the hitch that you attach to the bike./ That's the most important part I'd like to see ;/
They’re not etched, the markings are actually cast into the steel.
Thanks for the clarification. I misspoke. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
I've been wrenching on heavy equipment for 20 years. I have to admit that im embarrassed for wasting thousands of dollars on snap on sockets when sunex was there all along. I have replaced 1/4in all the way to 1in drive metric and standard sockets completely to sunex. Sunex's quality is no joke and will far last the rest of my career.
Great job with your video.... thanks!...I'm going to Lowes to pick one up now.
thanks for taking the time to watch. Its super handy to keep everything in. Let me know how you like it after you use it a bit.
I think they should have used a quick connector from factory. I've seen ads for $80 for the quick connector. I bought the adapter and quick connector for $13 at Princess Auto.
Using mine now on my riding lawn mower battery
You lost me when you mocked your viewers. You can educate folks without making fun of them. Be better.
Apparently he did not lose you if you felt compelled to comment here. He did the exact opposite, he got your attention so much that you were compelled to offer your sanctimonious, patronizing and reductive advice to "Be better." Do you think you are helpful or meaningful in any way when you tell someone to "Be better?" "Be better" is an empty, pointless self satiating, masturbatory phrase. It only serves you through some self stated moral hierarchy as if you are signaling to the world that you are in fact better, so much better that you have the moral authority tell others to be better.
@@Fender1031thanks for the lengthy lecture, but did you ever stop to think maybe he could simply not ridicule his very few viewer base? It makes him come off as ignorant.
Point taken. there is a better way to conduct myself. And not out for a big base, just tryin to help people. I thank all who take the time to view and comment, even if we don't all agree. That's what makes life interesting.
@@Fender1031 bet you're fun at parties
Gonna cry?
I liked your review, good info. I think you could have included a quick unboxing. It is nice to see how things are packaged. For me unboxing is just irritating when it is prolonged. However, you can't be serious about using the heater when the ambient temp is 53 degrees (except for demonstrating purposes). It would only be an overly sensitive person that would need to heat a garage when it is 53. Probably would not need a heater in a garage unless temps were well below freezing.
Har en fiskars x 11 att ha med ut i skogen vid fiske och jakt perfekt att klyva lite ved för att göra upp eld. Har även en x 25 hemma för att klyva ved.
Seems like a good kit to throw in the bed of the truck and forget about it until you need it
Absolutely. I forgot it one day when i was mowing the church lawn. Had a problem with the mower and kicked myself right in the butt for not bringing it. I make sure to take it all the time now. Its super handy!! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
0:30 Doing a review, you could have said the cost... And no video has answer this question, does it come with a battery?
Yes i get your point. The way that prices have been increasing, i tend not to put pricing. I did in some other videos and then prices went up and people were asking where i found it at the price on the video. Also as with most Milwaukee tools, you can buy them "tool only" or with a battery and charger which changes the price pretty well. Here is a link to the inflator at HD so you can see pricing. www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Electric-Portable-Inflator-Tool-Only-2848-20/320022879 . Thanks for taking the time to watch and let me know if i can help further.
I put this on my Milwaukee inflator as well. I agree, it makes it so much better to use.
funny i just used it again today and thought the same thing again LOL. Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
Are the sockets 6 point, 12 point, or a combination?
they are mostly 6 point. in the 1/4 drive std they have both
@@aroughperspective thank you!
Great tool, nice vid.
Thanks 👍
That’s a great and simple idea! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!
Poly juice jugs containing sand make good low impact ballast. Of course a slat sided shed with big overhangs is better than tarping
wood shed is on the project list. The LONG project list!!LOL
Very good point 😊
That is a good way of tarping firewood. I screw a deck screw in the end of a piece firewood in the stack 4 or 5 inches from the tarps grommets and use heavy duty string to tie the tarp down. I like the way you are doing it. Great suggestion!
i find that it wont ruin the tarp around the grommets and as the pile gets smaller, you just tie off the rope to make it shorter. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
What's the difference between open and closed locknflate? I know open lets air flow, closed is off until used, but which is this?
This is the open which allows the infator to read tire pressure and control the airflow. The other is for an air line with a control on the line. Locknflate lets you know on their site as well so you don't order the wrong one
Thank you ! the links are great and I have ordered the adapter and the locknflate, i think this awesome inflator should have come with the clip on end from new !
I would think that a company like Milwaukee would have had something like that on the end. Well worth the money and made the inflator not suck!!LOL
Personally the Allen keys being in bag, is my only problem with the kit. But I can get holder for them which ain’t big deal
school principal said tear a NOTHER TARP AND HE WILL PADDLE SOME BUTTS
8:44 Amazing! Like new!😊
Gotta check that out, looks like a good method.
Purple haired wizards XD Subscribed.
Great video... do you know if it is vent free?
Ok, so it says in the manual that its for a construction environment. It says do not use in unventilated areas. It also says to use a CO alarm. I would read the manual if you get it and for $20 you can get a CO alarm, which is not costly insurance. I hope that helped somewhat.
@@aroughperspective Yes that is what exactly what I was looking for... thanks so much
To all the people who would say that this will dull the axe. I NEVER hit the ledge behind me!! This is a 17" axe and im using short strokes. Its simple physics!!! Im not using a long handled axe. The solution if you're worried is to take a step forward. Link for X-11 amzn.to/3OmN9qH This is an affiliate link
How to make your axe dull 101
Most times the axe hits the log on the floor, not the back support. In fact, never. Thanks for watching.
See all the chop marks in the metal edge trim. Hokey Dokey.
Not from the axe. From wood. I have done a lot of splitting there. The axe still has a decent edge even though I’m no pro. Thanks for watching.
Until you miss and hit the ledge, well looks like you already did that a few times
Nope, not once. I think this is the safest way, rather than balancing the log. I have dinged up my axe but not on the back edge and I haven’t sharpened it yet. That little axe does well. Thanks for watching.
"Purple haired wizards runnin' around" That deserves a 👍
