John Mayer - “I Guess I Just Feel Like” - Dedication to My Cancer Battle
John Mayer recorded this personal video sending me words of hope and encouragement in my battle against leukemia and even tweaked the very end of the lyrics reminding me specifically that he hopes I personally never give up. Stay tuned for a little message at the end that just means EVERYTHING to me.
What John Mayer doesn’t know is that just hours prior to getting his message yesterday, I was listening to this very song by request as I was claustrophobically and tightly strapped down to a custom fitted table and mask receiving full-brain and spinal radiation. The radiation technicians have started to put his albums on during my treatments before I even have to ask.
John Mayer, thank you with all of my being for finding the time to record this backstage while on your tour in Chicago this week. I just can’t believe the kindness and sincerity. You have brought life to me with this.
Most of all though, this wouldn’t have even been possible without yet again the love and support of my dear friend, Alex Taylor. I know she’s pulled some major strings and I just want to thank her most of all in this providing me with constant surprises and encouragements beyond my wildest dreams. Lastly, thank you to Alex’s amazingly talented and well-connected brother, Gene Stupnitsky, for helping facilitate all of this while he was knee-deep this week in premiering his new major Hollywood blockbuster comedy, Good Boys.
My heart is forever full.

It Reminds me of my frien who passed away from leukimia too. He looked very healthy when suddenly he got a stomachache and went to the doctor and he was told that he had cancer and the only person who provided him with blood was his twin brother. I am and was very sad for the loss. 😢

What a beautiful song. I don't know why it popped up in my feed today, but I guess I needed to hear it. And then I saw the comments about Dustin and found out he has passed. But that lead me to his advice essay and that put it all in perspective. Rest in peace.
This broke my heart. You're Missed Dustin and I wish you made it. Dustin's family, I know there's been some time since his passing, but I just saw this video, and my heart is with you. Cancer victims and survivors are my heroes. I have so much love for all of you.

Never seen a great artist interact with his many fans this way....I've seen videos of him teaching guitar too on IG and here on YT, such an insight into his playing skill (of course, emulating is nigh impossible..)....and he seems to do it all with a carefree attitude showing genuine care. Don't think I cared for his music much when I was growing up, but can't get enough of his stuff now.....one of THE greats of our times. Thank You John !!

I’m very sorry for your loss Mrs. Tattoli and I just want to say that Dustin seemed like he was a loving man and husband. I had a friend that passed away and I understand the way you feel, we will never be able to forget the losses that we take but we also will never forget the memory’s we have with those we love. I never knew you or Dustin yet I’m here crying just like the next person, I’m a big fan of John Mayer just like Dustin apparently was, I’m glad he got this special message before he passed. Stay strong and healthy God bless you. (Here is a bible verse to help) Pslams 34:18 - The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. If you don’t already know Jesus he can help in so many supernatural ways, go for a visit to a local church one Sunday morning. Have a great rest of the day!

I only just discovered this video while going through random covers of this song. I expected to come to the comments to spread some love and hope, but then I read that Dustin passed... RIP Dustin, you will forever be missed by your family, friends and loved ones, along with all us strangers in the comments. This has all brought us together and has touched all our hearts. It's these little bursts of kindness that mean so much to us that we need to appreciate!
