    I would love to provide this meditation free from any ad interruptions. However, as of posting this video, the channel is not monetized. Therefore, TH-cam will place ads on any video they want and collect ad revenue for themselves. The sooner the channel becomes monetized, the sooner I can remove ads, or at least make sure they are not placed in the middle of the video to ensure a quality meditative experience. How you can help: 1. Like & Subscribe - the quicker we get 1000 subscribers, the closer I am to monetization. 2. use an ad-blocker if possible 3. if You can afford TH-cam Premium, you won't have to deal with ads ever. Thank you!

    I have always been fascinated with shadow work. I had a particularly cathartic experience with it in my art. I was plagued for many years with visitations from shadow people during sleep paralysis, it was some pretty nasty shit. My first script and feature film were based on those experiences. The weird part is, as soon as I finished making the film, the visits from those malevolent entities ended. It was almost as if the external expression of those experiences acted a s a kind of exorcism. Make of that what you will, but I found it quite a compelling coincidence that the visits ended after the film was done.

    I resonate very much with your words. I have been an independent musician and filmmaker for 4 decades, I have made similar choices in risking it all to make two feature films and many albums over the course of those 40 years. I am 58 years old, still finding ways to keep doing it, I do not know how to do anything else, but it has become a deep struggle to keep it going. There was a decade or so where I was actually making a decent living as a filmmaker, but things changed and now I'm struggling again, working any side gigs I can get to keep my head above water. I have spent the last two years experimenting with youtube just to keep producing content and stay on my game, but it is honestly quite depressing and deflating when you put so much work into a video and it barely gets any views. Not trying to be a downer, I appreciate the sentiment in your video and I agree wholeheartedly that you gotta take your shots, but I think there are a lot of people that fall for the lie that if you work hard enough and pay your dues you will succeed. Nothing is guaranteed, especially not in the entertainment business - you only hear the success stories, the ones who fall short are relegated to obscurity. That being said, I have no regrets in choosing the art life, I'm certain I would have been miserable doing anything else.

      @@fraterseamus thanks for sharing your story and struggles. I’ve tried to develop a bit of zen about the end result and realize for me, as you said, I can’t imagine living another way. The problem with not making money isn't always because it is the primary motive. When you see others making money hand over fist, for art that looks like it was done by a blindfolded three year old by with a broken crayon, You feel like you're just spinning your wheels working so hard to hone your skills. Money translates to recognition, and /or validation. And isn't that what we really want? To know that what we've worked so hard on is appreciated?

    • @ARTandVOID
      @ARTandVOID หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@airbrushdungeon thanks for commenting. You are right that money is often just a symbol for validation and recognition. It also is a harsh reality that we need to survive, and it’s hard to be creative when we are stressed about survival. While getting supportive feedback is great it’s not why we make art. We make it because we love making art. But I get you… we need to also be better at “business mode”, which is why I talk about developing the entrepreneurial side in other videos and will continue to in more to come.

    • @ARTandVOID
      @ARTandVOID หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hollywood certainly hasn't done itself any favors in driving away once loyal fanbases, but I believe it's all too late. There are still plenty of good shows and movies, but it's inconsistent. Andor and Top Gun were incredible for instance. But I'd encourage fans of classic series to move on and find something new to love. Find a brand/production company that you trust with quality output. There will be new creative films and shows popping up, but the old model is on life support, and more companies may be exiting Hollywood due to costs of operating there.

And have you searched for tarot readings? Anyone who can shuffle has a reading channel, and they can't really tell me anything new at this point. But a principle that is almost universal is that it all comes from within. I am ready to find my own answers. Meditation is rather [disappointing?] for lack of a better word. I am also a thinker. @ARTandVOID My biggest struggle is personally my technology addiction. I feel like it sucks all the time out of my life, from countless hours on the phone or computer. When you said to meditate while trying to create, it just gave me a few ideas. I love to paint and to draw, I sit and try to create, but I just can't force anything out. I long for the full release and freedom of a childlike imagination. It was never hard as a child to create. In fact, it's quite easy! Is there anything in particular practices you find that help you relax this tightness of the mind around imagination?

      @ARTandVOID 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@msdesolate4470 when we are children we are typically more open and haven't been hooked by the amount of technology that is hacking our brains these days. I would suggest a weekly "fast" from technology, and intentionally fill that space with either meditation and/or the "open canvas". Even if you don't complete any project and get that "full release", you're still honoring your higher self and devoting time, free of distraction, to what will ultimately bring more peace to your mind & spirit. Enjoy the silence and being alone as you scribble on a blank page. The result doesn't matter. The exercise is important. if that's too much. simply start with daily 10-20 minute mindfulness meditation - no technology involved, and see what how that develops.
