I am interested in your opinion on what exactly an asset flip is. Because I definitly used assets yeah, but I also made a lot myself and the result is a very fun and at the same time scary game. So at what point does a game become an asset flip?

Yeah for some elements like part of the thumbnail I use AI art, but for the game itself I do not use any. I think its a good way to make the thumbnails look way more interesting

Yeah, thats right xD. But they are way more fun like that (and also dont break the AI🤫). I think in this case its okay to have some unrealism in the game 😂

@@NitratEntertainment Your most important 'resource' as a dev for horror games is immersion, be careful how you trade it in favor of other things. I would say that it's worth not cutting a corner here (or don't cut it this way, could just have the door not collide with the monster while opening, or just not collide at all). It's okay to not match everything to reality in favor of gameplay, however you also risk taking people out of their immersion if it's too egregious. Basically, if it screams 'YOU ARE PLAYING A VIDEO GAME' at you louder than 'YOU ARE RUNNING FOR YOUR LIFE' that's bad. Personally, I'd go the extra mile and make my doors collide and also open one way, with hinges on the correct side of the door so it can be anticipated if you're observant. And then randomize their direction at the start of each game. That way, when you open a door, it might get in your way, hell I might even make it stop if you're in the way and you have to continue opening the door. panicking with trying to open a door while you're being chased would add a lot of tension to the game.
