I am punching viking who is holding a chest. Viking cannot die. Pirate behind me with a bomb. Bomb blows up and kills the viking with the chest. The chest flies out of his hands and kills two parrots (one of which is mine).
This! More of this! I feel like this is what it looked like when I dreamt of being an adventurer in Norrath. A far more polished and realistic world. Thank you for taking the time to create this and sharing it with us all.

I miss EQ when it was EQ, The TLPs are good but not how I felt when I first launched into EQ in 99. This gave me those original vibes as a world waiting to be explored again.
thats a keyword people miss from mmos nowadays "exploration".
Id love to see this in a playable, or even use to make into a playable.

Kelethin is my favorite city in Everquest and I have so many fond memories of it. Fantastic job with this graphical update!

Amazing! 👏. This is what Everquest deserves/needs! The classic game and zones all remade like this would be epic. It would get a whole new generation of people into the game that can’t now because of the outdated graphics.
A few zones could use a rework, but yeah this would be fun to play

A modern remake of EQ with some QOL features and dedicated addon support would be something id play. The games just as hostile as it was in 1999 with default settings, BUT Addons bring in all manner of optional quality of life . No minimap by default but you can enable it with an addon, no hotbars or damage text but you can add it all in.
i mean that's not really true , with out corpse recovery the biggest fear of death is gone now on live.
How long did it take, and is this part of a bigger playable project?
Several years, on-and-off. I started the redesign in 2014, and then re-did it in 2016, I haven't really touched it much until 2019 and 2020. I'd say, maybe about a total of 200+ hours. I want it to be part of a bigger project, I am currently working on making greater faydark. I had a side goal of putting into VRChat, and it's submitted but not public. I'm not too familiar with VRChat. I've also considered expanding it further, and maybe doing a few other zones from EQ1. Kind of was interested in doing East Karana next.
@@Ayzahar Cabilis will be awesome. a question much time it will take to update the classic p99 with this awesome graphics. like to import to Unity3D
@@sakrom Cabilis would be awesome as hell but very complicated as it's massive. These models were made by me and are already in Unity3d. The video is actually shot in 3D and there is a VR chat that you can visit today and look at it. I do not think P99 is build in Unity, and they would have to recreate the entire base code for the game for Unity3D which I don't think anyone really wants to do.

@@sakrom That's pretty cool. I sort of know how that's done, but I don't know if you can rebuild it with all the game code in tact. I think it's just the artwork.

This looks awesome, but the railings are not classic ;) Part of the natural selection of elves is falling off the tree house! Get's rid of all the bad elves.
When my friend said he was going to get me EverQuest back in 2000, I spent, literally, hours debating what race/class to play. I settled on Wood-Elf Ranger. Finally, I install the game, update the game on a 56k modem, and make my character. First thing I do is fall off Kelethin.
