That looked like one hell of a climb! I would have had my brakes on all the way down!
I should’ve braked more. A gouge in the road almost sent me into the bushes. It was fun though.
Wow, nice to see traditions. They must have incredibly sore muscles after that.
The day after must be very sore, but they're plied with alcohol throughout the day, and I have it on good authority that that helps for the festival.

Another cool video. I like the train footage. Was the driver talking to someone before he went into the tunnel or was he doing a salute?
He was checking something by pointing at it. It seems to be what they do here in Japan. For example, switch a switch then point at it, check a road is clear by pointing left and right etc…

Is that a random tool you've repurposed for the fountain-pen-painting, or is it designed for that?
It's a ruling pen. I think they used to be used for technical drawing but I like the adjustability it allows for masking fluid application.

Brilliant animation and paintings
i really enjoyed this one, you picked a nice subject for the painting. i'm curious about your plein air setup; the watercolor palette looks useful for working without an easel, and the water brushes are nice for keeping things minimal, not needing a water jar, etc. i'm very much a beginner and still learning about decent setups while out in the field.
