Had five Jake's come in behind me, and couldn't get them infront of me. I wasn't in a blind and was sitting up against a tree, had to slowly get up behind the tree and turn around. They started to get spooked and I tried to get a line on them, but missed. It happens and like you said. If you ain't missed a turkey, you haven't hunted enough.

Missed 2 this weekend. The first I rushed the shot thru brush the second came to my blind side and I got twisted in a knot and had to turn and shot quick . I’m new to the sport and I’m able to call them in to distance but none of this matters if I can’t hit em lol. I appreciate this conversation!

Need a snake-proof version of them. That's the whole reason I wear gaiters for turkey hunting, but finding a waterproof and snake-proof gaiter so far has been impossible.

Well...I practiced yelps and purrs this weekend in Claiborne County....it worked. Got 6 return calls....they were headed straight 4 me when I got up and went back to cabin....this channels advice and videos are great. Thank you gentlemen. Will be ordering your gaiters as a thank you

Yep...they like open fields and rain. A short cut field>longer grass field. This is true in the ams with the dew on the ground. I have especially had em start cranking up after a hard rain and the sun comes out.
