I feel like... huh...

Lost my father, friend. He said see everyday as a box, and when that day ends, close that box. I did not realize it then, but live by the day. Even though closing that box for him, meant dying more each day. So you my father, there on that sad height... which just fucking killed me to see you suffer. I hate the fact that I couldn't safe you. I'm so sorry. I hate the fact to be a simple fucking human being that couldn't change a thing, only to witness your final moments.

I’m now 79, this poem means so much to me, my life is now near its end so these words take on such meaning.

I turned 40 today, and chronic pain makes me feel older than I should. I couldn't enter my 4th decade without listening to this poem. It's one of my favorites.

My dad has dementia and i see him fight to hold onto his mind and basic things we take for granted, where the stairs are, whats outside, how money works, what day it is and i feel this poem in my bones and soul as every day he rages against that light that slowly reels him in on its silken, subtle thread.

This is about death. In two ways. Don’t go gentle into the good night. Keep fighting even when you know it’s a loosing battle, make the reaper earn it. Rage against the dying of the light. Dreams are meaningful, they give you something to strive for. No matter how humble. Don’t let that light be extinguished, don’t let your dreams die. Even in a downpour, keep that little ember covered. Don’t let it fizzle out. Because life without a dream is a death all its own.

The timing of the background thunder with "And you my father..." was heavy. Thomas felt like his dying father wwas giving in and accepting death so easily.

Don’t understand how people find this narrator appropriate to have a tone of voice to articulate this poem without sounding coarse.

In the abyss of despair, where shadows writhe, Not love's gentle glow, but rage's fiery scythe. Crimson embers, a tempest's searing breath, Kept me alive in the dance with death.

This is one of the most moving short poems I have ever heard and it never fails to move me to tears.

Everytime i feel that there is nothing to do to stop thinking or feeling.this poem, this music, (this video specially) fills my emptyness.

The words are enough. All the rest is distracting fluff. The delivery is a miss for Hopkins, oddly.
