Carlo Gesualdo - Canzon Francese del Principe - for Guitar
Carlo Gesualdo: Canzon Francese del Principe.
Guitar Score for sale (price 15$ - 14€ - 100 DKR.) Please contact me at: cdejour@outlook.com
The piece is originally written for the Harpsichord, but here in an arrangement for solo guitar made by Christophe Dejour.
The Canzon Franchese del Principe is the only surviving keyboard work attributable to Gesualdo. The piece is famous chiefly for the virtuosic, candenza-like embellishment.
Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa (1566 - 1613) was Prince of Venosa and Count of Conza. As a musician he is best known for writing intensely expressive madrigals and pieces of sacred music that use a chromatic language not heard again until the late 19th century. He is also known for his cruelty and lewdness: the best known fact of his life is his gruesome killing of his first wife and her lover upon finding them in flagrante delicto. The fascination for his extraordinary music and for his shocking acts have gone hand in hand.
I play on my Behnam Shirazi guitar (2014) on this video. I hope you will enjoy the music and the video.
Best regards Christophe Dejour

Oscar Esplá Sonata for solo guitar
มุมมอง 11K9 ปีที่แล้ว
”Tempo di Sonata” is the only piece originally written for the guitar by Oscar Esplá (1886-1976) The Sonata was composed around the year 1930 but was first performed in 1978 by José Tomás. The Sonata has not been performed many time since. I personally think the Sonata should be placed among the standard pieces for the classical guitar. Text from "Guitars International" "José Tomás: Memory and ...

Alban Berg Sonate opus 1 (1910) originally written for the piano, but here in a unique arrangement for solo guitar made by Christophe Dejour. The guitar score are available at Universal Edition: www.universaledition.com/sheet-music-shop/sonata-for-guitar-berg-alban-ue36674
Breathtaking achievement. Stunning performance. Thank you, Sir.
This makes a lot of sense on the guitar! I have always been very fond of this piece (and much else of Bartok's). Nevertheless, I am hearing it for the first time again. Thanks, that's precious! Great playing by the way!
If I could travel in time I would love to bring Mr Bach samples of his music recorded 270 years after his passing, just to sit back and see his reaction. This rendition would certainly be among that material.
For me, this is an achievement comparable to the landing of the SpaceX Starship booster yesterday.

Love the vibrato perfect temp and soul. Thank you. Inspiration and beautiful
Unbelievable display of skill from a true master.
Eccellente 👍
Wow, I think what you have done here is really exceptional and exciting. I totally feel I am listening to a substantial Bartok piece very nicely played, and at the same time you never lose the character of the guitar.
Great, but the sound of the recording is quite horribilis!!!!
wonderful to hear die neuer wiener schule on guitar! sechs kleine klavierstücke next? beautiful! 🎸😎
Astonishingly beautiful!
Holy crap 😮 That’s amazing!
Learning a piece is frustrating, practicing it is repetitive, playing it is amaaazing
It is just wonderful to listen to this Bach's masterpiece sounding so nicely from a guitar. Congratulations!
i'm in awe of this performance! ! !
Great respect to you Mr. Dejour. What a fantastic performance. The great Johann Sebastian himself would love your work, no doubt about it. Thank you!
Wahnsinn! Begnadet!
WOW! Gorgeous! After hearing it so many times on piano, this guitar version is so fresh and brings new appreciation of this fantastic composition. And what a fantastic performance. Bravo Mr. Dejour!
I can see what people are saying about how "modern" his music sounds - in spite of how royally fudged up his life was in every other respect. Talk about separating the art from the artist!
Christophe! I love your playing and love those position dots on the side of the neck! why not!?
smashed it bro
beautiful! well played! Congrats Dude! These channels should have millions followers! love Angelo!
Si Bach viviera seguramente le aplaudiria de pie
Herculean work to play it in the harpsichord but on the guitar? That's insane! Great transcription and rendering!
Bravo, the transcription alone is astounding, the execution is incredible.. if I only had one tenth of your talent I would die a very happy man. .. but.. what is happening with the very large and obvious fret markers at 5th and 7th. I have never seen this on a classical guitar before. I have no doubt you are more than capable of playing this blind folded at your level of virtuosity and am puzzled (intrigued) as to why you would have requested these ugly markers (I assume you had the instrument built to your specification). Please don't take my comment wrong.. they are not a criticism of any sort... I am genuinely intrigued why these markers have been placed on such a beautiful sounding instrument? Is this perhaps a study instrument that you have found that just happens to sound incredible?
Masterful performance and Transcription! Congratulations! Bravo!
The score is available, the same version, I have it.
Stellar!
👏👏👏👏👏 Bravo!!!
speechless more likely
Insane and so great, from start to end
That dude is a BAD mamma jamma!!!
Magnífico
Fantastic job
Awesome Transcriptions C.D
Dissonantly Lyrical . Berg.
The mark of genius is you don't know you need what it provides until it provides it. Who knew the guitar could be a Berg Opus 1 vehicle? You did -- bravo to your skill, imagination, and artistry.
