This squirrel was not in the mood for this intrusive rat getting so close to it.

These two young squirrels appeared completely unconcerned about an intruding Scrub Jay that tends to scare off other birds.

This raccoon appears well fed, but must be struggling a little to come out in the day time to eat by my porch. It didn't appear to concerned about me, and was more focused on what was going on in my yard.

This squirrel must have been quite hungry to sit there in the rain. I watched it repeatedly chase away any bird that came near it.

This was a bit of an artistic indulgence. Because of the way zoom affects image stabilization and focus, I was not able to get as close to the rain spheres as I wanted, but still enjoyed capturing this one.

Looks like the older generation and the younger generation scrounging for some food on my back porch.

It looks like a new generation of squirrels has found my back porch. I noticed the similar yellow fur patterns on their back, so I think they are related.

I was cooling off near the pacific ocean and watched this group of shore birds, plovers I think, being very active at the edge of the water.

This cat caused a bit of a raucous chasing the squirrels. I gave it some old leftovers, which it devoured and went on it's way. I noticed the unusual bushy tail, almost like a fox's.

I thought I would post some nice summer reminders as we head into fall.

I was surprised to see this large flock of barn swallows gathering on this electric pole near a river park. I don't think I've seen this many at once before. A quick update for 9/7/24, I realized watching this later that there are probably some shore swallows and tree swallows mixed in with the barn swallows based on the lighter colors of some birds captured in the video.

I was happy to see these deer return this summer. They stayed for quite a while enjoying the shade and ripening apples that had fallen on the ground.

I was a little shocked to see this flock of red-winged blackbirds attack my bird feeder. They cleaned out all the bird seed in under an hour.

This year is the first time I've ever seen goldfinches in my back yard. I'm wondering if there is a food scarcity issue.
