LOVE it
The Swannanoa River flows out of the mountains near Black Mountain, NC and into Asheville. I used to live on its banks.
Would be nice to see more of Rachel Bryan Combs, to make this trio visually complete!
I never grow tired of hearing James play.
🌠
AMEN
🙏
RIGHTEOUS
🐸
Thank you for making the world a happier place to exist with your music
WOW this is perfection
I've known James since I was 8 years old. He is a good friend. He was labeled Tennessee Valley fiddle king when he was 17. It wasn't long after that he went to work for Opryland USA. You'd have to be an outstanding musician to be able to fill a position like that wouldn't you think? 2:07 5:19
Old- Time music Nirvana. 🤩
Spot on💥
Righteous
James, a hearty thanks for all of the mighty fine tunes over the years, especially the ones i learned from you
I'd pay good money for that bow-arm, wrist and hand.
yes, me too
That is so pretty!
Like honey dripping off a hot rock. Smooth...
No flashy stuff, no manic tempos, just sweet music.
Well put, that is sooo right.
You summed up everything that is wrong with oldtime today and everything that James' fiddling is not!
Fine fiddling and guitaring.
A Lost and Found Art
I would advise Matt to watch No Doubt's original video of "Don't Speak." Eve
I've come to believe in universal salvation after I had a (non-scary) supernatural experience after I realized how true the following quote is from the Catholic Bible's Book of Wisdom: Wisdom Ch. 11, Verses 22-26 "Indeed before You the whole universe is like a grain from a balance or a drop of morning dew come down upon the earth. But You have mercy on all, because You can do all things, and You overlook the sins of men so that they may repent. For You love all things that are and loathe nothing that You have made, for You would not have fashioned what You hate. How could a thing remain, unless You willed it, or be preserved had it not been called forth by You? But You spare all things because they are Yours, O Lord and Lover of souls." Chapter 12, verse 1, "For Your imperishable spirit is in all things." This excerpt was hanging on my wall in my college co-op bedroom when I suddenly started to cry because I realized how true this quote is. Out of nowhere, there comes a banging on my floor. I looked to see a CD on my floor called "Tears from Heaven" (it was a two-sided CD with "Tears from Heaven" on one side and "Voices from Heaven" on the other side). The CD had fallen from a stack of CDs on my desk, but the other CDs had not fallen (there was no force that should have caused the CD to fall), and the noise that came crashing down unto my carpeted floor was disproportionate to what a single CD falling off a desk should sound like. Backtrack a year. I had lost Beethoven's 9th symphony CD from a set of Herbert von Karajan Beethoven symphonies. I looked everywhere for it, and I was living in a different building at the time. Eventually, I bought another copy of Beethoven's 9th "Ode to Joy" CD with a different orchestra and conductor. Well, the same time that "Tears from Heaven" came crashing down that very copy of Herbert von Karajan's Beethoven 9th symphony CD appeared on my desk in plain sight from out of nowhere. The "Ode to Joy" poem that accompanies the symphony discusses how surely there is a loving God in heaven above the starry canopy and that all men become brothers. Ever since this happened, I know in my core that everyone will be saved no matter how much of a stinker s/he may have been for a period of time. Every person and animal God ever created shall have everlasting life in the heavens. This is my belief system, and I am grateful to God that He shared with me the certainty of universal salvation. Yours sincerely, the Biblical Eve
A master of the fiddle.
Mighty Mighty Fine
This song came from Ron Hughey's family. His hands were so big that he rested his index finger in the peg box when he played.
Which one, Yellow Gals or Liquor Seller?
@@scottmeyer1268 the beginning to 2:17
I had the pleasure of playing with Ron Hughey not long before he passed at a Northern California fiddle contest in 1974. He was so weak, he had to sit on an aluminum chair. I played banjo backup. Love his Country Fiddlin' Ozark Style album
@@danielwick2852 I lived in Fresno at that time and He and I and Kenny Hall played at the worst biker bar in the world called The Egg and I......
@@nmonteleone9104 do tell!
This is unbelievably gorgeous as is the wonderful backup!
Hello Debbie, I am Melvin Wine’s Great Granddaughter. This brings back so much joy and memories of Melvins music. I would love to correspond more with you about Melvins heritage and music with you if you are interested. Hope to hear from you soon. -Nat

Oh yeah, fun, dig that swing.
My brother went to school and was friends with James. He is so awesome
James Bryan is simply the best.
He's my fiddlistic north star. His playing is so sweet, but then so are his tune choices!
Indeed 🌞
Can't go wrong with that!
Gerry, I think that Curley Ray Cline recorded it with the Lonsome Pine Fiddlers. I know that he did at least once with Ralph Stanley.
This is so beautiful.
ANOTHER NEW FAVORITE!
lovely...
That sure is it. Thanks, James
Yes, 2012 Noontime concert
