Why are you talking about a grant?
I thought this was unclaimed property?
I would like to hear from the that be like the Alderman's and influential people in the community. I also want to hear from the principal of schools in the community. I would like to see this happen.
I2i, since I've been matched with them for a year, only met with them once to collect my data. I'm curious about the data they are using in my community.
One last piece, when grant funding is made available, I do like when you have level 1 to level 3 funding, that is fair, because we all know we can't compete with an organization that level 3. So,please keep that in place.
How can we get the links to the data so we as CBO'S can work together in a session?
Yes, please continue to streamline the process. I'm glad that all of these agencies are working together.
Greetings, I can remember when they asked me a few years ago what can we do to help with what you're doing since we're boots on the ground. Thanks for listening and being able to work with CBO's. I live in tbe Austin Community and Equity with funding still needs to stay in place. Sinc, I've as a school teacher and now lead on Capacity building in my area, we still need support to continue our work. Build and ACT both work together, but what if we're not in their eco-system, that impacts the smaller CBO's. So, I'm looking to create or partner with CBO's with boots on the ground and continue the work across Chicago. I would like to look at the CVI tool.
Amen Rev!
Creative data collection is a necessary component of this work. Data collection that measures the components of positive cultural repair, development, and growth would enhance the ability to tell our community story and affirm and promote a healthy community. Black culture is valued and the best components of that culture have been appropriated by others. We need to go beyond the status quo data collection.
Michelle Obama told us to do something - GASC is doing something!!! So very proud of these Black folks! I love everyone - but these folks make me proud!
Delrice - those glasses are fire!!!
Great initiative.
What sort of regulations are there on turnaround times? EDIT: I just realized that maybe I posted this on the wrong video. I am referring to the VESSA compensation program - My application was submitted in first quarter of 2022, never heard anything for months so did start calling, and finally got my claim acceptance letter and deadline for doc submissions. That deadline was Nov 2023, and I still have yet to hear anything back. I’ve sent many emails to my case manager at AG to see if there is anything further she needs from me and was never getting a response. I was very concerned about getting them any missing documents, due to the paperwork list of needed documentation is so difficult to determine what all is needed. (I should clarify definitely not due to a lack of education, etc on my part. I’m a teacher, grad student and biz owner 😊). Those documents truly need to be revised to be much easier to follow and/or assistance be available for people completing them. Since I don’t ever get responses, I have now changed my emails to just asking for progress update on my claim, but I always get a very generic answer if any at all. 😔 I’m not sure what steps I need to take to try to get this process sped up and finalized. It’s been a very long time and I have shown immense patience with my case worker. But it’s getting to where the turnaround time is very unfair. The law was made for help for victims, but if it takes years - definitely disappointing level of help. 😔. I’d love for any suggestions you may have.
Nice stuff
