@theundercook_spaghetti3198 You’re spot on. Saitama’s not dumb per se, he just doesn’t care much about fame or recognition because he’s already at the top. But that’s also where his lack of care becomes a problem. While he doesn’t need to prove himself as a hero, his disconnect from everything outside of fighting means he struggles with basic things in life, like connecting with people or having a purpose beyond being the strongest. It’s like he’s so powerful that nothing challenges him anymore, but that lack of interest keeps him from living a fulfilling life beyond hero work and even during. I’m certain the life of a S rank is better than a C, but Saitama just chooses not to chase that.

@Francisco_Is_Epic True, The Hand isn’t the fastest Stand out there, but with a power like erasing space, it doesn’t need to be. The real issue is Okuyasu not fully realizing how to take advantage of it. Even with that slight delay, if he used the Stand more strategically, more so for eliminating space to teleport swiftly. It could make him a bit more dangerous. I think the best representation of him using The Hand against a faster stand would be the Red Hot Chili Pepper fight.

@@Xay_Richamazing explanation, but I think it's the fact that the small amount of time that is the delay is what makes him open to a blow, so I think you would have to catch the enemy off guard maybe. You can definitely explain it better, I haven't watched JoJo's in a hot minute.

@Francisco_Is_Epic yea so The Hand has a B rank speed as opposed to Crazy Diamond’s A rank speed. So yea I agree he would have to use more trickery to close that gap

That was such a rushed comment I made but yeah, his speed is the biggest disadvantage he has, it holds back the stand from it's full potential and abusive power. It's best to catch your opponent off guard, and even with that, some stands can still land a blow. It's a very good stand, just held back.

Actually is deeper and more simple than that. He tried to hype himself up to imagine how strong kenpachi was but in doing so he was also boosting kenpachi. That lingering doubt of could he withstand this? Kept kenny in the fight and then because it kept going his imagination ran wild and his body collapsed in on himself. Heck he even says it himself. "You're just as strong as I IMAGINED you'd be"

@kylecabrera142 yeah you know why he couldn't imagine himself as someone stronger than kenpachi he couldn't mentally comprehend his power because like i said everything he threw at him he walked through. If you've never lost and this guy simply cuts through space and everything else its going to shake your confidence. Not to mention he was locked away for being so powerful.

@kylecabrera142 kenpachi is flat out stronger than him. Gremmys strength came from his mind not his body so his body was probably too weak to hold kenpachis power. When theirs a mountain of a difference you can't possibly comprehend the level of strength.

@Matt.r2 Great take, I think the real issue was him “playing with his food”. If you have a power like that you have to end the fight as quickly as possible, especially against an opponent like Kenpachi, who oozes “I’m going to kill you” energy.

@@Xay_Richexcept he couldn’t, Gremmy couldn’t just unimagine Kenpachi, for starters it’s expressly stated by Gremmy several times in this fight “I can’t even imagine a creature like you.” So Gremmy couldn’t even acknowledge that Kenpachi was a shinagami and saw him as a flat out creature later calling him a monster and saying “I couldn’t imagine myself as being stronger than that monster.” Kenpachi was just deadass sum that was completely foreign to Gremmy. He couldn’t imagine someone whose only thrill and enjoyment came from fighting to the death because that’s not a logical thought process. Also ur completely ignoring the fact that Gremmy literally put Kenpachi in space to kill him, which didn’t work. Dropped a meteor that would kill everyone including him and ywach as it was capable of destroying all of soul society, and Kenpachi destroyed it. Kenpachi was literally doing the mf impossible, like when he sliced the miracle and cut his power killing him permanently which shouldn’t have been possible given the way the miracle works. Gremmy deadass never stood a chance and that’s what ur missing. Gremmy had a busted ability sure, but Kenpachi can cut anything and wants to cut everything there was nun Gremmy could do. Even the vacuum of space couldn’t hold Kenpachi and he cut through it just to cut Gremmy.

@@Xay_Rich the problem is that the only people that think like that are people not born with strength/talent, people that have seen such folly, or people that have experience/wisdom. Kenpachi is the personification of "playing with your food" which is the only reason anyone that doesnt vastly outclass him could put up a fight or, in Ichigo's case, even win. it honestly wouldnt matter if Gremmy played with his food if he had absolute confidence because Kenpachi could never win against that
