Changing the axle on my tractor trailer!
มุมมอง 9213 หลายเดือนก่อน
My tipping trailer badly needed a new set of tires as they where the wrong type for the jobs ill be doing with this trailer. Due to the rare and old stud pattern on the old wheels it was simply easier to change the axel for one with a modern stud pattern. I managed to get a 2nd had axel with rims and tires on it already for a great deal off one of my teachers at college so in todays Video we ch...

in today's video I tackle 2 major leaks in 2 different places with 2 different types of oil First in the front the left axel hub went out and leaked all the oil out and left me stranded 10 kilometres away in a field and had to be repaired quickly. and while I replaced that seal I noticed my back end oil was dropping drastically and noticed it all over the floor! if you enjoy this content please...

Shit tip end up with bad feet round that damp wet ring feeder when it's pouched ground
As I said to others in the comments 2 days after this video was recorded i moved the feeder onto hard ground at the end of the yard (it's even on the thumbnail)
The dry weather is suiting your plan this November but if you try this out wintering plan the average year the compound will be floating in shit within two weeks, you wont be able to get in to feed them and the cattle wont lie down.
Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. Yes this is only a temporary situation as a shed is planned for next year hopefully! The ring feeder was also moved a few days after this was recorded and it's just off the concrete so not to hard for them to get to. They have the shed to lie down in with a bunch of Matts for cushion. This situation isn't ideal but works for me this year untill a proper shed can be put in. Thanks again for the comment and I hope ye hang around.
Hi scroft
Looks like south of ireland, but you have American accent, very nice scenery.
I have just found your channel and I am curious do you have an American accent and how did you an Irish farmer come to have it , where we are in the south east we have to collect slurry and dirty water or we could be inspected and prosecuted if not .
I do have an American accent whilst still being half Irish although that is a story for another time. I'm located in Kerry and the dung from these bullocks is piled up and stored untill spring/summer until it can be spread in the dry weather
The ring feeder might have been better in the yard, near the house for them and you could close them out to the field when you need to give them a bale. Also in wet weather you would not have to travelling out in soft ground.
Yeah a week after the first bale went in I moved it straight down from the yard (as seen in the thumbnail) thanks for the comment though!
Nice tidy job fencing are you going to reseed the ground behind the feeder for the bullocks?
Yes it will be reseeded but not specifically for the bullocks. I have plenty of hill land but barley enough paddocks for lambing etc so that's what that will turn into most likely
Elite video bro!
Very good !!! Thanks of France !( Ford 6610)

We have a Ford 6600 and it take the same seals on that brake rod , it really sucks replacing them and the best of all is that the quality of the replacement seals are terrible. They only last 3 to 4 months and then starts craking, tearing and perishing, and that is even so called genuine patrs.
Yea it's a utter disgrace the quality of parts these days fortunately the brake seals are really cheap but that's part of the problem 🤷♂️ does your yoke see alot of work? Also one thing that got cut unintentionally was that I grease the rod when installing so it can slide easier and also gives it a chance to slide rather then flexing which reduces wear and seems to increase the duration of them.
@@waterfallfarm5408Thank you. I will give that a try next time.
Hi there how are those brake seals holding up?
@waterfallfarm5408 Hi, The tractor sat for a few months, piston sleeve rusted through, and had to overhaul the engine. Running great now and sounds healthy again , it had quite some wear on the rocker shaft at the intake and exhaust valve adjustment. The seals are still holding up for now.
@@merogistix9412 ow wow ye had a big job there but I'm sure she runs great now

Nice good sounding tractor. I have a 85ish Long 610 (romania build) that I'm told is a sister tractor to the Fords. I'm dealing with blowby oil after warm up. Not sure if the atf/diesel approach is worth it or just split and rebuild. Ever experience dealing with blowby? I'm considering just running a catch can when I need to use it. I hope you fledgling business takes off. Looks like you got the garage for it.
Hi there thanks for yer comment I appreciate it. Well blow by is a failure of the piston rings and is when compression is getting past the piston and goes down into the sump the blow by relief is normally on the top of the engine rocker cover so as to let the pressure out but not to leak oil. I would recommend running a compression test first to see what kind of compression you have and after that depending on the setup of your yoke you might be able to remove the oil pan/sump and remove the pistons that way. I would recommend doing the head gasket at the same time while your doing so much to it already and while the head is off get it Plained down to level I always do this for good practice and that way I know my new head gasket is getting a good seal. I hope this helps and thanks for watching hope to see you back again soon
good job 👍
can we get part 2?
Whenever it's back for more work I'll be sure to make a part 2 😅
@@waterfallfarm5408 when you changed the main hydraulic filter on the right side of the tractor behind the rear wheel did you have to drain all the fluid? I have an 88 6610 Series II and I want to change the filter but I’d prefer not to drain all the fluid.
@riverlad9561 you shouldn't have to drain the back end oil that's coming off the pump to my knowledge and shouldn't drain anything when you take it off except for what's in the system. If you do have to drain the easiest way it to plug in a hydraulic hose and pump out untill it runs dry then immediately shut the engine off and you should have 95% of your oil out to make your life easier. Hope this helps and thanks for watching
I know it's probably late but you should also put engine oil in the injection pump. Large 1" nut on top to fill and 1/2" level bung beside the primer pump you took off
Thanks for the advice I will recommend to customer next time it's in for work!

Nice Dogs!!!
Good looking 6610. Not all of them had coolant filters and is that IAT coolant? 🤙🤙👍👍
Thanks for the comment yes it is IAT coolant. The coolant systems are the weakest part of the old ford tractors but as long as it is drained and flushed often it isn't a problem
I dont know what brings me here. But im loving the content

Great video. Your device is S 23 ultra ? How is the user expwrience ? Plese do let me know.
User experience is out of this world! It has cameras that hold there own against my friends lower level professional cameras, the prossesing power is abundant and where my S20 struggled this doesn't even blink. Editing these videos takes a huge amount of prossesing power and this phone just absolutely charges through it! My single only complaint is the lack of SF card ability unlike my S20 but the 23 ultra has so much internal space it makes up for it! I hope this helps you and for the record I do very much recommend the Samsung S23 flagship phone
Enjoyed the video, keep up the good work!

Nice tractor I have a 1988 ford 4610 ford is built like a board Tough as nails
Oh that they are indeed just give them a small bit of love and they'll take all the abuse and stay going old stuff is just gold
It appears the oil pump on your 6810 is shot. That Q31 loader should handle that shear just fine.
Last it was tested we got a good reading but I'll have to run a test again. Also this is the X31 so a lighter loader I wish I had an q30🤣 thanks for the comment👍
@@waterfallfarm5408 ahh indeed, the Q3 lifts 1550kg but the X3 only 970... in that case it isnt the oilpump...

Where did you take the ground for the new solenoid?
Well it turned out the solenoid was working so it was the original solenoid I put back in. The issue was the 12 volts wire from the key wasn't sending enough voltage to engage the solenoid so I replaced that and reinstalled the solenoid. The earth for the solenoid is the frame of the machine just like the starter and most other electrical equipment on any machine so if your having a bad connection take it off and wire brush the back of the unit and clean the plate where it is bolted to and that should give you a good earth. If that doesn't work look at the main earth on the battery connector and where it bolts to the frame of the machine if that's rusty or dirty your connection won't be strong enough for smaller power needing unit's especially like LED lights. Hope this answered your question have a good one 👍
