Hi! Thanksfor the comment! Btw you are absolutely right, I'm sure they allow you to understand a lot about yourself, situations and specific subject but, exactly how you pointed out, they do it in a slowly way. As someone who doesn't really enjoy reading and doesn't find it easy, committing to a full book seems like a huge commitment. It's scary and, at least to me, it looks like a goal that I can't reach. At the same time I'm aware of the extreme value of books and how they can actually teach you a lot. That's why I'm trying to read a little bit everyday and it's also why I choose Personal Developement books rather than Novels or other types of "stories". I'm trying to read for the value that I can get out of it, not for entertainment aspect, so the goal is to get at as much value out of every session. You could point out that a Story could bring more and deeper values and I could potentially agree with you. At the same time I'll have to finish the book in order to have a comprehensive understanding and value. In a Story there are moments when you don't learn anything, moments when the story is going in the wrong direction, mistakes, so and so. In order to have a full and real value out of it you have to at least read multiple chapters or even complete the book. I'm choosing personal development books because every time I force myself to read, I get some kind of value out of it. It's a faster reward process compared to the story. For someone who doesn't like to read and it's doing it to learn, this is a lot easier because effort is paid off right away. It's probably not the more healthy answer and I should probably work on my need of fast rewards but this is my reasoning. What I'm trying to do is to step in this world, I could fall in love with reading and maybe switch to stories in the future, or maybe just keep forcing myself to read, but I'm still doing better than not even trying. Really appreciated your comment! What do you think, does my reasoning makes a little bit of sense?
