I personally like to take the headlight assembly out. Just pop the clips to the grill at the top of the mount with a flat blade screwdriver, then use (preferably a plastic) pry bad at the top of the bumper to release the grill from the clips. Then you have 3 bolts per headlight and it pops up. I’ve owned 3 of these because they’re cheap, easy to work on and reliable so I have worked on them quite a bit and hope this helps give someone another option as there is almost always more than one way to do it

I just had the alternator changed and in the same place. I am loosing water but can’t find the leak. I am not a mechanic but old female technician . Will look again.

So the guy filming no fault of his but, the guy working on the car obviously does not care enough that he took the upper ball joint nut off and the arm flew up. Luckily didn’t hurt anyone or damage the brake hose or ABS wire. This is why I do my own work lol. Older techs definitely have the knowledge but, sometimes their anger gets in the way of their professionalism and respect. Please people watching this, great info and camera angles for people to learn to do this job DIY but, please don’t cause yourself headache or more money by something as simple as not undoing the 10mm for the brake hose and ABS or not keeping the upper ball joint nut on to prevent what you saw here.

Why not put a c clamp to push piston in? Turn it the opposite way to where the handle is on the back of caliper where brake line is.

Lucas in the winter is crazy thick. It can plug up filters when it’s cold and take a bit to heat up and flow. No thanks.

Did it on Panda (pretty same as 500) and all you need is to loose engine mount (in UK drivers side) and lift engine as far as it goes, you can get alternator into place above the halfshaft - its a bit tricky but it work. The top bolt is bigger challenge 😁 mirror and small ratchet set could help. Mine 120A alternator died at approx 40k miles/5 years ☹️
