Adapting a Jensen Healey Steering Hub to fit an Opel Steering Wheel
In this video I show the basic steps I took to modify a Jensen Healey steering wheel center to accept a steering wheel from an Opel GT. Why? Mostly for fun but the Opel steering wheel also mounts simply using 6 M6 cap head bolts so is a good candidate for a swap. I also have a bunch of cores. New GT steering wheels with thinner faux wood rims are available new. I ended up fixing the center cap with a dollop of silicone on the steering shaft end. Functional but there is likely a more elegant solution to be found.

My sun visors had disintegrated. The nice thing about these replacements is that they use the stock mounting brackets, require no sewing, and can be made in any height you want. Plus it's a pretty easy project. Amazon link to edging: a.co/d/h6JlebN The tubing I picked up at Metal Supermarket

    Do you have the part # for the muffler?

      These parts were put on in 2006 so not sure they are still current, but the exhaust is a Magnaflow part 11132 then running through Pacesetter resonator tips part 95-9938.

    I had this problem in 1986 on a blueprinted 2.0 Ford with dual DCOE 40’s. Turned out Weber had to styles of accelerator pump jets. One style which shot fuel perpendicular to airstream and a second style which shot fuel directly downstream. The downstream jets cured the lag problem to the point that I could let out the clutch and open the throttles and the engine would pull smoothly from 2000-5500 RPM.

    My older brother and I used to remove the muffler and replace it with a pipe and run only the rear resonator with the 2 chrome tips on our 1970 Kadett Rallye and 1969 Kadett LS.. really sounded great and the resonator would last much longer since the exhaust heat would get back to it. We had the best sounding Kadetts around 👍

    my prior post - problem was 30mm main venturi too big, bought some 28mm and now just fiddling with jetting - much better!

    Tuning a friend's old '61 Mercedes 190 with dual DOCE 45's with 30mm. Bogs bad when you try to step on the throttle. Have set to specs listed in weber book for this car (jets, accel jets, etc), but we can't get it right. Major bog when you try to throttle off idle and even at 2000 rpms. Got car used and had a couple of issues, this being the biggest one. Have checked valves and timing. Wondering if I need to clean them out with solvent and air.

    have you cured this??? i have built a 1600 supercharged engine with single dcoe40 on it and i have the same problem slow increase in throttle is fine but sudden throttle causes same problem im reluctant to touch pump jet as im worried maybe its getting too much gas?? love to know how your getting on

    Thanks for the post. I discovered that when I built the airbox I restricted the main air vent. Created an opening and that problem fixed. Now just playing with jets but will have to wait for warmer weather.

    increase pump jet.? is it bogging on quick throttle or at full throttle, as you never went to max revs slowly, but when you whacked open throttle to what looks like full it bogged straight away.
