Absolute truth here. Thank you 🕉🙏🏽❤
This interview is beautiful
I totally agree. He speaks so clearly and matter of factly about this very subtle stuff. Not easy to do. I just came across him while cleaning out some old books and an article he wrote probably 20 years ago brought me to tears. It was called From Cynic to Mystic from an anthology called Goodlife (from Utne Reader). The book fell open at his article and I couldn't put it down. About three years ago the kind of shift he describes began opening for me. But even now I find myself being shy when trying to describe it to others and to fully trust it myself. Mark, your courage gives me courage. Thank you so much.
This looks wonderful Mark. I teach a class on a Sunday morning so will miss this one. Are you in London for any other offerings?
No other offerings in the UK this year, alas. Sorry to miss you! Thanks for writing.
@@MarkStevenMatousek thanks Mark. I always enjoy the many offerings at Alternatives and have explored more of your work after seeing this London event announced today. It all very much resonates. Have you space in your London visit to connect e.g. coffee/lunch? The Seekers Forum and the theme talks coming up that are TBC - are those up to synchronicity or have you people in mind?
Why does this interview person disregard the author's representation of his book by constantly imposing her silly comments thereby undermining and disrespectful of the author's take on his own work.
My teacher Joel S Gokdsmith who wrote The Infinite Way liked Emerson ❤
41:00 - My biggest mistake was just carrying on as if nothing happened, why have I done that all my life? I want to remember and refresh the awe that I felt in those deep spiritual moments of epiphany! Those moments were miracles! God, nature, awe, so much! I'm waking up now half way through my life! Gratitude for life is everything
How would Freud's quote about the father relate to being a daughter?
Freud tended to sexualize everything (especially re: fathers/daughters, mothers/sons). There's some truth in that approach but it missed a LOT. : )
It baffles me that Emerson is not more elevated as an American Icon......I believe this author is correct that Emerson offers wisdom that is needed in today's world. Life is not about being concerned about how you or others look on Facebook, it is about knowing who you really are and living accordingly, in a way that may or may not look "successful" to others. I've followed (imperfectly) the Emerson code for many years, living from the inside out, and living a life quite fascinating to me, even with the deep downs and super highs...my experiences, not borrowed from anyone else. Emerson asks you not to sell out to anyone or any dogma, to travel the road that has your name on it. (one more thought....Emerson, to me, was a liberator of thought, of creativity....he wanted to help awaken you, not get you to agree with him or follow him, but by being vigorously honest and creative himself, inspiring us to be that way ourselves, in our own way.....which can lead to a very private life for some, and make joining groups difficult for some)
I could not agree more! Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Mark
Such a good and moving conversation.
Such a special human being. So real..
I still resonate with this message every time at least once a year when l need to jumpstart
What a beautiful soul ! It really emerges from eyes, face, aura and also talk ✨
Love the message. The band, Wookiefoot, has a great song called Ready or Not, that uses the phrase “turn it into a dive” in the same context as the title of your book. I’m not sure if you read comments from such old videos, but I discovered you through your wonderful interview with Rupert Spira. Thank you!
