So i'm in the same boat here. I live right by East Lynn lake but man the fishing there is.. tempermental. You've had some time now any tips for a guy wanting to learn the kanawha system? Which section do you prefer? Any luck going up the coal or the elk? Ever catch them schooling good usually riverine systems have good shad populations. It's hard living in a bass desert. I got spoiled being in the TVA lakes for several years 😂

Practice was phenomenal there and that cold night changed everything. I could go almost anywhere on the lake and grind it out and catch 3-4lb fish. It seemed like it was going to be an absolute slug fest. It didn't matter if I was fishing shallow grass, pads, windblown banks, isolated weed clumps, deep stumps, blue gill beds, shell bars etc. fish were on all of it. That one cold night and it was like the big fish disappeared for me and I caught a whole bunch of little ones. My coangler was throwing a little tube and a drop shot and ended up in 12th place, but I didn't fish that way because in practice the bigger fish didn't want some tiny little bait. The bigger the bait the bigger the fish it caught lol

I'm still trying to get mine dialed in better but it's been frustrating for me. Someday I'll get it down. I am on the latest version at the moment. Also, I have not been on the water to work with it as much as I would like to be.

I would like to ask if you are able to lock in the screens at any angle from fully upright to lowered, in case I were to want them to be a little closer to me as I am fishing. I sit in a chair when I fish and I think I would like to be able to lean it over more toward where I fish, possibly. Thanks again for the video.

The ball valves in my primer bulb would stick and starve the engine. It was quite dangerous when the engine shut off in a blast off once. Eventually I just replaced the bulb and haven’t had anymore issues.

How do you become a co-angler? Lake Erie is the best happy it’s 20 minute drive to the ramp. Sure need to keep an eye on the weather out there.

Did you install the recessed foot pedal tray yourself? Rangers telling me my 2004 vs185 ain't compatible with it. Apparently that's because the factory didn't build in the slot. I've seen guys install trays on rangers from the 90s though so I'm kinda confused

Welcome to WV! Kanawha River can be oh so stingy, but there are some decent quality fish scattered but few and far between. Battery wise…..numerous possibilities. My guess would be that battery looked pretty dry to be a flooded lead battery. Cold weather + water low in battery+ charging and age of the battery most likely caused it to blow out the side. Glad you got back on the water.

I miss that lake!! It can be a hard one to figure out!

Thanks for this video. Brings back memories 2009 I was there for the last week of April and I was fishing rocky points dragging a 2-3/4” root beer tube and caught multiple 6+ lbrs and my pb of 10lb. Didn’t figure the rocky points out til the last 2 days I was there unfortunately but still had a blast. Ironically it was a bass master event that week too so all the pros were there. I ended up staying next to rick clunn too at the state park cabins! Even saw Kevin van dam fishing one of the spots I hit.

It’s rated for a 175 I have the same boat
