Why is it so difficult for hotels in general to implement affiliate programs to drive direct bookings like OTAs? Is it for tech reasons?
Good points! What's your point of view on the staff referral program, especially for independent property? Would hotels be more interested in the potential that comes from employees referring friends & family to spend money at the hotel than from employees staying there themselves?
Yes most hotels have a referral program that pays a commission
The best reputation management, is to offer excellent service. It costs nothing to be kind, clean and courteous; prepare food as if you're trying to deeply impress someone on a first date. If you can meet these standards I would significantly appreciate that more than the most genuine apology, because once a moment is destroyed, you can't really give it back.
I agree
Food and beverage is always more intense....tough
You are so right
Had to subscribe after that intro
Lol, yes, my son is a lot bigger now
Thank you so much for this! Just finished my first week and watching this motivates me to keep going 🙏🏻❤️
You are welcome
There's actually a YT video that someone uploaded, showing a woman at a front desk of a hotel in Las Vegas or some city like that. But the people who filmed her assumed she was on drugs. Well, she was actually doing such phenomenal work at her job, was being the most courteous, professional, efficient front desk agent I ever saw in my life, and so, it backfired on the people who uploaded the video. People in the comments section of the video were all saying how excellent she was, and how they wished that they had an agent like her when they went to a hotel to check in. And, on top of all that, some people knew who she was, as she had been at that hotel casino for years. And those people had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Just an interesting story I thought I would share. Just because someone has a condition doesn't mean we should assume things about them. But yeah, best front desk agent I have seen.
I love it
I was called for an interview for this role. I have never done it. I am shocked that they called me. Now, I see "Accounting", and I am like, "I have to do accounting?"
Most of it is simple accounting, it doesn't take must to learn
i get paid $17 cad an hour for night audit and its from 11-7, should i ask for more?
It depends on where you are located. 17.00 is not bad for a night audit shift
Worked 2 weeks as night audit. It’s horrible no sleep and all the responsibilities no thanks
Yes, you have to be built differently for this shift
I've been working Front Desk for 5 years and have just been promoted to Front Desk Manager. This has been helpful information!
Thank you and congratulations on the promotion
Marketing won't make up for nightmare owners and horrible management.
You are right
Have you seen any changes yet?
Not much
@@HotelGuestManagement Okay,thank you
Promo`SM 🤗
Thank you
I am a frequent traveler. Going to a hotel where the people have a bad attitude will put me off the brand so fast. When I check in I expect the people at the front desk to interact with me, answer any questions I have and look at me straight in the eye. If they barely talk and mumble I get really put off. And yes this has happened more than a couple of times. It has happened where I was planning on staying several nights, but with the attitude the front desk had I would cancel the rest of my stay and go elsewhere. And no I am not a high maintenance guest. But if I am paying $200 a night for a room I do expect to be greeted nicely and have a good experience. (Prices do differ depending on where I am staying of course)
I agree with totally
When you are in Mumbai dear Bruce , let us have coffee together .
Absolutely
Congratulations and best wishes Upendra . The best ROI in hospitality is Returning guests who are overflowing with memorable experiences and are recognized by their host community of servers with esteem .
🧨
This is wonderful!
Thank you
Thank sir very informative ❤
Most welcome
Could you assist me, please. I have several VCCs that I cant charge. I click on View card details, but it shows me that my account is not set up for Virtual Credit Cards. Could you help me how to solve it, because I have money that is ‘trapped’?
Contact the OTA and tell them to reactivate the card. Then charge the card manually through your credit card processing gateway
Great show!
Thank you
❤thank you Bruce!! So much fun!
You are so welcome
Dont nobody have no cashApp. Me either.

Thank you Sir

I subbed just because of that intro
Thank you, my son is 2 now.
2:17, who is this pretty white woman
Lol
Currently have worked night auditor for the past 3 years. Now working at 2 different hotels doing night audit every night. I love it. I’ve worked in various markets (next to airports, off freeways, downtown, middle of nowhere) it matters the location and brand you work for so you feel it’s comfortable for you. I love working by myself.
What I loved about night audit is you get to keep the day to yourself.
@@HotelGuestManagement yeah, to sleep all day!
The debt…
Yes I know
Hiring because of being not white is as stupid as it sounds. Got a good doctor, pilot, lawyer, teacher? Maybe, we don't know if they're qualified, we only know they're not Caucasian.
Hmmm... Think he said it perfectly. "Its Easier!" How about you put in some hard work and earn it like everyone else without standards being lowered or just a free ride.
Shawn 70% of the employees in our industry are minorities. If they didn't work hard, we wouldn't have an industry. If they're not getting a free ride in their current position, why would they need one in the next one.
Ive been auditing for 5y’s. First 2months are hard for sure but, then you get use to it. I haven’t seen the senior management for most of my time working in the industry. I think that was a good thing as my FOM was my age and very cute. Hahah
😅🤣😂
She is putrid
Excellent advice.
Thanks for watching!

Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great Hotel!! I loved everything the food the service and the location. First time in Reading and this Hotel found it to be a safe and friendly place. Thanks
Our pleasure!
Im going to start a hotel management/tourism channel soon. I hope we can do a podcast or something together in the future! I think it'd be fun. Right now I have so many video ideas but its hard to get started on them it takes a lot to organize thoughts and script a video on top of work and school. I think you've done a great job with your videos man. Just wanted to introduce myself, and ill drop another comment when I actually start making these videos I have planned.

Powerful contributors! Is it going to be on Amazon?
Yes, this book will be available on Amazon in March.
Congrats! This book is a MUST to read, folks! Woo hoo!
Thanks Deborah
Today my 2nd night as a night auditor I go in at 11pm im so nervous cause I was lost my 1st day but I was doing the reservations taking away safe fee which wasn’t too hard and doing the books to make sure all the signed forms where in the folders for the day shift wen people check out but yea I love it thou but I hate not knowing what to do
Congratulations welcome to the hotel business
It’s only a 2nd night, hahah you’ve got it. I remember my 1-2nd night, worried I’ll mess up something. 5y later I became a manager. I thought to myself, if this is so hard why did they hire me, or if I am not good at it , what am I doing here. Your confidence will come as you go. Remember one think, you are only a human and if you make a mistake there is a accounting department who has to check everything anyways. You have a back up, so I wouldn’t worry 2 much.
@@DavidBalog-wx7xf thanks for tht now I’m 3 months in nd it’s very easy to do now lol nd yes when’s there’s issue on the credit cards not being balanced I just email the accountant department and they fix it
@@ninadaesthe that’s great.
