Killington, VT - ◊ Superstar on Closing Day (6-1-24) [4K]
Well, that was certainly an experience! I missed the opening rush, but I saw some photos of the line from earlier and I don't regret sleeping in. I was lucky that the remaining snow was still continuous since most other years you have to walk between patches toward the bottom of the trail. Still went super cautiously because I kinda want to use these skis again in the future. This was certainly a cool experience and a nice novelty, but I think it's safe to say I won't be doing this again any time soon.
The headwall was obviously a bust as it has on previous closing days, but this was the first time I've noticed them add an alternative way down. Snowcats are usually perched at the top of the headwall with ropes to help climb down, but there was also an alternative, less steep hike to "skier's" right off the lift via Nivis Walk and Launchpad, though it's only a tad shorter than a half a mile so I wouldn't recommend it. Plus, the rope climb is almost like a rite of passage!
Advice: The ropes are quite handy when climbing down to the snow, but I'd recommend going a little further down the snow to a flatter part before attempting to put skis on.
Overall Difficulty: 5/10
Relative Difficulty (Diamond): 5/10
Accessibility Rating: 2/10 (No snow at the top or bottom, requires nasty hike down the headwall or long walk around via Nivis Walk/Launchpad)
Open Trail Index: 10/10 (Jay Peak doesn't even have any snow left dude what do you think)
Enjoyment Rating: 7/10

Killington, VT - ◊ Superstar Before Memorial Weekend (5-24-24) [4K]
มุมมอง 3076 หลายเดือนก่อน
I went back for more a week later and conditions were still pretty good! I mean, you had to take your skis off at the bottom, but that's a small price to pay for some fun this late in the season. They slow the lift quite a bit to allow enough time to load and unload properly which hampered crowd flow a bit but also meant most people had left by 11am. This run was later in the day after pretty m...

The season lives on! This was the last weekend with ski-on/ski-off conditions this season. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much snow was left, especially after a pretty brutal week before this - plus, they were closed by this time in 2021! The late-season dumps certainly helped I guess. This is the first time I've been up to Killington for the ultra-late season so I wasn't sure what to e...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. My last run in Colorado this season! Bit of irony leading up to this one because I was planning on a nice top-to-bottom run from the top of Lenawee/Beavers but I went down to the bottom of Lenawee at 3:25 and they had already closed it. No hate but...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. My final run in the Beavers pod. Probably one of my favorite resort areas ever, up there with Blue Sky Basin in Vail and everything off the Panoramic Express at Winter Park. Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Not sure about you but I counted 0 cornices. I swear if someone puts a comment attacking me for lying about the cornice count... it's just the trail name dude! Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. I'd be lying if I said this didn't feel similar to the neighboring run I had done before this, but I just couldn't get enough of the woods, especially this late in the season! I absolutely adore this area of the resort and this was no exception. I ...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Another nice glade run in what felt like the middle of nowhere! Bighorn is obviously pretty similar to neighboring runs like Todd's Ridge and Dreamcatcher because they are essentially the same patch of trees. But I would never pass up on another ex...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Todd's Ridge is one of several trails that comprise the same (but rather large) stretch of trees in the Beavers area. I've already covered Glockenspiel Glades in arguably much better conditions but who am I to complain about glades open in May? The...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. This is a super unique boulder field that can be easily lapped from a major lift! It's not terribly long but makes for a really cool experience, all while being less nerve-racking than a comparable run down something like Devil's Fiddle at Killingt...

Sorry about the color quality - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Sorry for the color quality y'all - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Sorry for the color quality y'all - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. มุมมอง 316 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sorry for the color quality y'all - not sure what happened but something got on the lens and I didn't notice it on the screen until a couple days later. Primrose is drawn in comically bad on the trail map as it's hard to tell if it's an uphill or downhill link between Village Way and Lunch Rock at the top of Mary Jane. The answer is neither! In fact, it bypasses Lunch Rock altogether and makes ...

That was a long flat stretch at the end, that poor snowboarder 😅
@@engineear5571 Yeah, the runout is pretty rough! They probably could have graded it a little better when they designed this area…
Great content. I'll be there Feb 2025 with my boys (13 & 9), these videos definitely give me some great ideas for what runs to hit and what to avoid. But yeah, on the trail map you see it's called "Glade" in the trail name but actually it's nothing like other, tougher glades I have seen and wouldn't go on LOL.
Is there any way you could make playlists of your videos by ski resort? It'll make it a lot easier for folks trying to pre-plan which trails they'd like to do...
@@flennboyd6413 I’ve thought about it, I might be able to do some sorting over winter break but in the meantime you can search my channel videos with the resort name as a keyword and that should be fairly accurate. From now on I do plan on adding new videos to playlists like that!
This is impossible. I spent 4 hours on this ungodly level jesus f christ
Awesome video. Unlike other ski videos yours doesn't stare at the ground the entire time...gives off a real view for what's ahead 🎉. Also really enjoy your descriptions of each trail.
Got stuck on this didn’t know it was there worst 30 minutes of my life.😂
Is that a GoPro rig? If so which model?
@@jstone4071 I use a GoPro Hero 10 mounted on the top of my helmet! They provide a buckle attachment but I forget if the actual helmet mount was proprietary or from a knockoff brand.
Really enjoy the content and explanations of each run. Also like the fact that you look back half way down, some of these runs are far steeper than it looks going downhill.
"what would you do if you had a million dollars to spend" at the end of the video was so off topic
wonder if theres actually a beaver pond somewhere on the mountain
i skied this trail in the late 80's. Very underrated bump run!
i conquered my fears i overcame my doubts
Those moguls are huge
Its too hard 😅
Before the drop: Harder 6-7 After the drop: Medium-Hard demon
Dude... I just have to say this is absolutely phenomenal. The music choice combined with your gp and deco create such a powerful atmosphere. So many emotions from a geometry dash level- I'm looking forward to playing it
Taking a trip here in February. Man, those ridges look insane, with the giant moguls and the lack of signage and the feeling that you’re in the middle of nowhere. Awesome job!
Welcome...west is the best! Jaeger would be one of best runs on mtn....if it didn't get bumped out by rooks!!
Going in December for winter break and I hope that I can do both of them
GG
cool level, bram4real!
wow good job!
I took the hike up to the summit to reach the cliffs at the lake chutes. Had fresh powder, it was awesome. My dad didn't want me going too far (yes, I was skiing with my dad, i'm 14). I would reccomend hiking if there is fresh snow. Do you plan on going back this season?
I would love to come back here, especially since I've improved a lot since my time here last season. Unfortunately I won't be in Colorado this year - I got lucky with work last season that allowed me to live in the area. Thank you for watching though, and enjoy the slopes!
Winter Park looks like a cool place to ski. That run out was forever but at least it was pretty in those woods.
The whole place is very neat! I've heard they're planning on sticking a lift or two in the Cirque, which I would assume would make the runout a little shorter.
I agree with your ratings. I usually go down N. Bowl. I didn't know it was rated 2 diamonds. I always gave it one. But difficulty changes as you know. I would never think of going down Keyhole during the late spring (Alpine) when it is narrow and frozen. But mid winter all filled in? Yeah.
I did 63%(normal mode) on mobile and i tried the ship in practice and i think i could not pass it 😢
I've skied KT lots of times and never skied Moseley's . What a great run! thanks.
zesqur should be permanently banned from creating any gameplay after that atrocity of a part (31-42) ive died exponentially more times there than any other part in the level combined just because of how buggy and inconsistent it is
very crowded!
They really be letting anyone beat somm these days
uh oh. the lift not moving? hehe
