This is all new age emotionalism, everything in church is going downhill with all this new age style Worship. Church isn’t about feeling in the emotion, that’s deception of the devil making people think they feeling in the spirit with all the happy clappy music when in actuality they’re not. All I see here is a false interpretation of the gospel. One should watch what Christian badel or Randy Skeet or Colin Standish says on these matters. The shaking is real in the SDA church and sadly many are deceived and will be lost.

The darkness wasn't living in conservatism, it was living without grace. It is possible and perfectly peaceful to live in both. I was a checklist, to-do Christian for a long time too. I didn't necessarily think I was earning salvation, but I was focusing on doing what I thought was good and right. I believed every single promise of God was true, but I realized as I aged that I didn't think they applied to me because I wasn't good enough. (non-religious programming from childhood) Spending time walking in faith and establishing those promises as foundational and true for me personally changed my view of myself as well as of others, just as Carolyn describes. However rejecting legalism didn't mean I rejected the law. When Christ works in us we are no longer forcing ourselves to show the works externally. When we do the work of surrender, then our externals naturally follow after Christ. That's where this kind of testimony shouts warning signs to other Christians (especially those who don't have grace yet). "I'm free, so now I feel great about doing all the things I believed were wrong before." Because of my personal journey I do realize that when "starting over" with Jesus we do/can go through a time period of starting over again. We kind of lean into the rebellious teenager time period. The hope is that you let Jesus walk you through AND out of that and into a grace-filled/led obedience. The externals may still end up looking similar (to forced obedience), but the internal is what allows the Savior to claim us as his own. (Matthew 7:22-23; 25:32-46) Praying we all keep our eyes on Jesus - the real Jesus, as the times ahead are going to be more challenging than we can ever imagine and the path will get harder and harder to travel on. With complete surrender to Jesus we will have peace in the storm. Our work is not finished yet.

Having the wrong idea of what Christianity is doesn’t mean Christianity has failed you. Just means you still had and do still have room to grow (as do we all). Unfortunately, I have seen too many Christians who awaken to realize they are in a legalistic ditch grab the wheel and over correct into the opposite ditch. Glad Paul is finding new joy in Jesus. I pray the "developing" isn't leading into a false revival, but instead a balanced walk with the Savior. Maranatha!

So the testimony here is I was conservative and didn't know Jesus... then I found Jesus and became more liberal? Does that mean that Jesus is not on the conservative side of the spectrum? Where do conservative standards come from then? I am confused as to what is really being said here. Because my understanding was that having Jesus is not a garb one puts on and takes off.

They then began their own called The Home Place before the COVID pandemic hit 🤷‍♀️ it’s more about what they have gone through & focusing more on Jesus’ standards and less on man’s standards vs being conservative or liberal. The Adventist religion is quite something to look into, especially with the Ellen G. White writings.

The boastful spiritualist claims great freedom, and in smooth, flowery language seeks to fascinate and delude unwary souls to choose the broad path of pleasure and sinful indulgence, rather than the narrow path and the straight way. Spiritualists call the requirements of God's law bondage, and say those who obey them live a life of slavish fear. I have known Paul since he moved to the States. We used to go to the family camps their ministry put on back then. I’m sure Paul remembers me still (Paul, if you’re reading this, I was Lisa Epperly back then). I found this podcast and Internet Church when Hannah shared her podcast episode on Facebook. But I had already been exposed to most of the gospel before this, thanks to the Sabbath school class I’ve been going to for the past 2-3 years. I am so happy to hear that Paul and Carolyn have found freedom. Let me tell you, it’s the best thing ever! I know what Paul was talking about when he shared about Hannah getting a tattoo, and how he was no longer attached to the outcome. A trans woman who has just begun transitioning came by to ask about getting a dress made (I am a seamstress), and I treated her just like I would any other customer. Later someone was telling me about being uncomfortable around some trans people, and I shared about this story, and she was curious how I could be that way. But I wouldn’t have been that way a few years ago. I would have felt very uncomfortable, and my body language would have given bad vibes. And I would have gossiped about it to anyone who I thought would sympathize, and I would have felt so self righteous that I wasn’t sinning like that trans person (which now feels just like a certain Pharisee who prayed with himself and went home unjustified). I praise God that I am free from that now, and it is so exciting to hear that people I knew are finding freedom too!

Do you think that it is our duty as Christians to impose our religious beliefs on those who do not profess to be followers of God?
