HIGH WATER MARK TRAIL - RD 2
It took us some time to get back, but we finally did. We completed the remaining portion of the HWMT that we left unfinished back in 2021. Started on the Northern most section near St Joe and camped along the Buffalo. A lot drier this go around but plenty of fun to be had.

To anyone who has installed this rack on the Disco 5: Should I be concerned about about liquid/condensation/etc. getting inside the factory roof rails? As you know, you must remove the caps which exposes the interior of the roof rails. As I already have installed it, I cannot remember if there are rubber seals or anything around each of the mounting hardware within the rails to prevent water from getting in, under the roof. Is there any concern about water or the elements getting into the roof?

If you've never really worked on an original those engines are EXPENSIVE to rebuild, had to do mine twice the machine shop neglected to magnaflux the crank, they have a weak #1 main bearing surface as well as a soft nose seal surface. #1 bearing surface cracked about 3 months after the engine went in, wife was driving, and lost 98 percent of the oil. Found a guaranteed used crank for 1500.00$, in 89 money. All told the engine cost about 5 grand to rebuild, again in 89 money. One expensive restoration, By the way mine was dual tank, and 4 speed, aux. heater, a few add ons, first oil change was 1,500 mile in Fairbanks Alaska, was originally well taken care of. And yes, FJ40 Land Cruiser, and they are cruisers at max 55mph in stock form on 32s getting mabey 8 mpg.

Given the rack weighs 40kg, that doesn’t leave much left. Will it fail if you exceed it? I'm curious about the approach your crew is using for completion of the Traverse. Are you using multiple weekends? Is everyone taking a week off? And I also saw something about a cabin. When are you camping and when are you using the cabin as a base? Again, great footage and I hope the 110 got it's fuel issues resolved. Beautiful vehicle and would love one, just the relative rarity (and expense) of parts might make me steer clear.

We took a week off to do this trip. We had a "base camp" in Blue Ridge GA. So we started on the Alabama line and drove east. 2 days on the trail, 1 night in the cabin (Blue Ridge) to somewhat re-group. And then we had planned for 2 more nights on the trail. With the set back on the 110 we didn't make it as far as we planned and darkness snuck up on us and we did not have a campsite close by. So we headed back to the cabin for the final night.

You guys have some high-quality footage and looks like a great crew. Would love to hear some narration to go along with the video, really adds another dimension. Anyway, we've done about 1/2 of the Georgia traverse over a couple of weekends. Resuming trips later this February. Keep up the good work! Subbed!

You are correct and we've acknowledged that we need some narration in our videos. We did have a good group for this trip and it was some great trails with beautiful views.

There is noticeable wind noise at speeds above 70mph. It is a muffled sound and not a whistle. Turn the radio up just a bit and it goes away!
