Winterize Mastercraft NXT Boat and Motor 6.0 Ilmore
Showing how to winterize my 2021 Mastercraft NXT24. This boat has the 6.0L Ilmore V8, should be the same for newer NXT22's and NXT20's if you have the same motor.

Great video, I have a 2023, which has a hull water intake valve, when I close this valve, it will not suck any antifreeze through the hose, with the valve open antifreeze just runs straight out through the hull intake, any suggestions?
Just FYI - your video is great. Did it on my NXT22 last year and all worked great. I had weather below 0F for extended days and everything was just fine and no issues come spring.
Hi, and thank you for the video. After you opened the plugs and before you cycled with the antifreeze, did you close the plugs or left them open?
Close them. Just drain the water and then put the plugs back in
I just ran about 8 gallons of antifreeze through my water intake and still couldn’t get any antifreeze out of the exhaust. I am going to call mastercraft on Monday to see if this is normal. From your video, I couldn’t see any coming out of your exhaust either (only water, or many alcohol from the antifreeze).
Mine is noticeably pink around the exhaust and on the ground under the exhaust afterword.. That is weird. Hope they can give some insight!
Great video! Can you share the specs/link of the plastic tube you used to put the RV antifreeze for the ballasts?
I should have talked about that, its just a funnel from Autozone and a piece of garden hose on the end 🤣
Do you blow out your heater lines as well?
My nxt doesnt have a heater or I would, you'll have to lookup how to do that one unfortunately. I've never done that
Great video, 2023 have 2 hoses laying at bottom, one on each side with yellow caps. And a garden hose port to run water or dump antifreeze in. And a valve to shut the through hull water intake
Careful with the garden hose port, my 2021 has that also but with no pressure while putting in the antifreeze it doesn't suck in enough - thats why I put it straight in the main intake hose as shown 👍
@@Ecom-Josha small pool cover pump placed in a bucket solves the pressure issue.
No oil change?
It had an oil change about 10 engine hours before this video 👍
What oil was used. I'm looking to change this myself. I just bought the Ilmor oil but want an alternative. Rotella T5 15w 40 maybe?
@@dhjengr8756 I use Rotella T4 15W 40
You need to warm the engine up first to get thermostat to open otherwise the antifreeze will not get to all parts of the engine

That doesn't apply for most modern engines as they have a bypass for the thermostat. I have a winterizing video on my channel that talks about this and shows you how to verify this on your engine.
Can you make one on dewinterizing.

I hook the garden hose up to the motor in the spring and run it up to temp. Fill with fresh 91 fuel and should be good to go 👍
